We walked into another restaurant nearby and were appalled by the noise level. We were lucky to be seated immediately at the Black Cat that was close by. Such was a relaxing atmosphere with a subdued noise level. Some of the seating consists of sofas. The menu changes frequently and the night we dined there were many delicious options. My... More

Our Boulder friends recommended this restaurant when we visited them and took them out for dinner. It was cold and wet outside when we arrived. Two of us didn't take our jackets off inside; it was not warm. The menu was interesting enough but the dishes did not live up to the hype. I was still hungry when we left.... More

We went here for dinner and each got the chef's tasting menu. It was listed as 6 courses but ended up being 7 with the dessert. This was easily one of the best places we've eaten, and the dessert was hands down the best one I've had in a restaurant ever. I usually feel like restaurants, even higher end places,... More

If you are looking for a dinning experience go to Black Cat. It is a romantic grotto with wonderful seating, great service and outstanding food. The vegetables and many of the meats served are grown on the owners own farm and it taste like it. This is food handled with loving care if you are looking for a romantic night... More

Enjoyed a relaxed evening with great food and wine with a party of five in a cozy little back booth/room. We visited from out of town and enjoyed the relaxed and very friendly service that seems to be part of the Boulder experience. Farm to table food did not disappoint. And beverages from creative cocktails, to local brews, to the... More

I live quite close to this establishment's Oxford Road farm in rural Boulder County. Following the catastrophic floods of last fall, the owners received quite a bit of favorable press in the metro media, and business has boomed by their own report ever since. Sadly, the care of their animals is atrocious. I have personally witnessed unsheltered piglet litters die... More

I had the extreme pleasure to wander into Black Cat on a cold, snowy January night in Boulder. There was just one other couple there and myself, then later a ten-top came in. Hence, I received a lot of attention from the servers and the sommelier during my eight-course tasting menu with wine pairings. In my opinion, the quality of... More

Had a great vegetarian meal with leftovers for the following day and a wonderful bottle of Spanish wine, which was served in a locally made carafe I would have liked to take home.
