Farm-to-Table Upscale Restaurant.

LIKES: Small but elegant, white-tablecloths and immpeccable Reidel wine glasses. Sommelier available and very knowledgeable. Beef and Pork (raised on their own farms) was SPECTACULAR. Veggies very unique and fresh. Also grown on their farms. Salads ery fresh. Our table of 6 was set in an... read more

Upscale, farm to table, well prepared, innovative, and pricey. Eric is the owner and I suppose the executive chef. You can find him at the Boulder and Longmont farmer's markets selling the produce he grows in person. He is also often at the restaurant and loves to relate to the diners. I wish I could afford to go there more... More

Lots of folks will like this farm-to-table venue, but it is not to our taste. We weren't crazy about the food preparation or the selections. The salads were also a little unusual for our tastes. The wine list is good, the ambiance nice. Prices fairly high. If you like something different, try The Black Cat.

Staff was very accommodating, ambiance of the place was cool - elegant but not stuffy and a cool vibe to it. The best part WAS THE FOOD!!!!!!!!!! We enjoyed one of the best meals of the year. You can't go wrong with the Chef's Choice for a delicious six course meal. Wine selection was impressive as well.

Upfront let me state that I am not a fan of small plates and tasting menus. The Black Cat is a high end, expensive restaurant so I rate it in comparison to similar establishments. I had the cassoulet. It was very good but it was a melange of freshly cooked ingredients not a slow cooked stew. It's worth a try.... More

I reserved a table at Black Cat for Valentine's day dinner, not knowing what to expect. It was a wonderful surprise. It is located on 13th St, just off the Pearl St. Mall in Boulder. It was fun to walk around the mall prior to our reservation as well as after dinner. I had not realized that there really wasn't... More

Broke the rule about avoiding restaurants on Valentines Day and was reminded why it is sound advice. Black Cat disappointed in terms of service, food quality, presentation, and taste. Waitstaff seemed completely bewildered about everything from silverware placement to items on the menu. Pacing of service was inept. Vegetarian entree with potatoes, sprouts, etc arrived lukewarm and tasted very bitter.... More

Our group of 5 had dinner at Black Cat in Boulder, CO. This restaurant is among the other boutique restaurants in the area and is small quaint and homey. It seems to rely quite a bit on their artful descriptions of farm to table food ingredients and decorative arrangement of the food portions.... although, in my opinion portion sizes were... More

Service is great, wine is excellent, menu is full of freshly prepared foods with clear links to local farm. Food tastes great and is well prepared, likely one of the best restaurants in Colorado. Skip a meal before you go because you'll want lot of food there, it is really good!

Incredible dinner with our kids and friends. There is a lot to be said for fresh ingredients straight from the farm. There was a bit of "Boulder" attitude, being very chique, hip and "affected", but, I would go back in a heartbeat. A special restaurant for special occasions.
