Up scale in the Mountains

One of our few upscale spot in the mountain area. Good food, great service. Not open all year round (Closes for a bit before Christmas and opens Spring).

Dined at Gold Hill on a recent Saturday night. We had a reservation at 7:30 pm. We arrived early so that we could get there in time to see the spectacular views. What a drive! If you are at all uncomfortable driving mountainous roads (dirt) with many switchbacks, this is not the place for you! What a reward if you... More

The food, the ambience, even the drive up to Gold Hill are all five star experiences. When people talk about authentic Colorado this place should be put on the top of the list. Family run for over 52 years there’s a lot of pride in everything that goes into your experience here. Historic yet humble, rustic yet comfortable and charming,... More

We attended a wedding here and it was fantastic. Outside ceremony, moving inside for appetizers, dinner, and dancing. Staff was great, food was excellent. This place just exudes charm. My only complaint is that it is a little dark inside. I would hate to add many more lights to ruin the atmosphere but we could hardly see the cake table.... More

On a recent visit to the Gold Hill Inn we were surprised by the beauty of the drive getting there, the atmosphere once you got there, the Inn was a fabulous and restful place to eat. Food was exceptional, wine seelection beyond belief, service was interesting, portions were fantastic, food was fresh, hot and delicious and the whole adventure was... More

Where else can you get a 6 course meal for $35--with fabulous quality? The courses were all very well done and there were several choices for the entree. We chose the beef tournedo and the smoked trout. Both were good but the trout was best! The blueberry cheesecake was the best dessert, the chocolate torte was a bit dry. Nicely... More

The atmosphere is wonderful, as is the food. We were there to celebrate a birthday and accompanied by our six week old granddaughter. They made sure we were comfortable and there was a safe place for the baby seat. For another poster on here, if you want a 7 P.M. reservation don't try to call the week before. A month... More

But for some friends and colleagues who knew where they were going, I would never have expected to find a place like the Gold Hill Inn somewhere above 8,000 feet and 10 miles north of Boulder. But there it is: a gourmet establishment with the best, most reasonable meals imaginable in a rustic setting in a small town up on... More

We had reservations, but still had to wait over 30 minutes to be seated. We call a week in advance to make reservations, and were unable to get a 7pm or 7:30pm reservation (I was not surprised because the food is very very good), so we agreed to an 8pm dinner reservation (we were told they stopped serving dinner at...
