Service was not very friendly. Food was OK but nothing special. Prices are a bit high. Not the experience it was when Jay moved to Boulder in the little cottage across from the West End.

While it's probably more of a dinner place we stopped by for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Service was quick and the food was very good. We both ordered the meatball sandwich and quickly discovered it was a ton of food! Meatballs were cooked just right and packed with flavor stuffed into crusty bread and just the right amount of... The chicken parmigiana was excellent! My daughter wanted rigatoni with marinara sauce and they brought her a baked dish. So it wasn't what she ordered. When we asked the waitress said it was the closest to what she ordered??? So she was a little disappointed.

Granted was told they were a server down but it took 5 minutes to get a glass of water. Ordered a Caesar salad that really wasn't the name sake. The dressing was more Caesar than the salad which literally coated the lettuce to the point it almost wasn't eatable. The atmosphere was ok. Sat near the sidewalk. The portions were... More

The food was tasty, but nothing too special. Place is small and crowded, but the food comes fairly quickly and the staff is pleasant enough. They do offer gluten-free pasta, but I'm not sure they understand why - still brought garlic bread with the order *sigh*. Since so many places in the area seem to have issue with the concept,... We stopped here twice on our trip to Boulder once for lunch and once for dinner. It was delicious both time and big enough to share. It was a nice touch the bread was made it order so it was hot and fresh. Service was great as well, it seemed everyone was working hard and as a team.

It's not amazing, but it is very good, especially given the price. Menu has loads of options. The portions are huge, so come hungry. The red sauce on their pastas is nice and garlicky with a sweet finish. A bit spicy (and generic). The restaurant is perfectly situated for people-watching, with outdoor tables and big, open-panel windows.

We were in the mood for great pasta and that's what we got. Service was great. If you don't like to wait put your name in and walk around and shop while you wait.

The casual elegance with red/white checker table clothes is just the beginning. Great wine list, incredible staff and simply delicious food. Friday night white clam sauce over stuffed shells is my favorite. The Gorgonzola salads are fresh and crispy. Just simply a wonderful place!

Pasta Jays is good, but nothing I would consider out of the ordinary. My major complaint is that it is a very small space, but the food is good and pasta Jays is a Boulder main stay.
