The name Hapa is derived from the Hawaiian term that describes a harmonious blend of Asian and American cultures. Like our name, our food reflects this dynamic combination. The menu is based on traditional Japanese cooking fundamentals which are then amplified, muted, or mixed with influences from many different styles of cooking until they are something completely new: they're Hapa. We have stretched the boundaries of creativity to develop dishes that defy all the rules while holding true to our roots. We hope that you will find our menu innovative, uninhibited, and distinctly fun! Incomplete parties will not be sat until complete.

Excellent Late Night Happy Hour

Boulder is now loaded with sushi spots and Hapa is one of the better stops. They roll out a solid late night happy hour with good drinks, sushi and appetizer options. Definitely can experience a full house on peak nights. Take out, if in town for business, is also a great option.

Popular restaurant on the Mall, offering a range of Japanese and Hawaiian-influenced dishes, all more or less familiar and unthreatening to novices. A wide range of sushi choices. The sushi tends to take a long time to arrive at the table. Not just long because it is being made fresh (you would hope that it is true in most sushi... More

Visited during Happy Hour, my first visit, Nigiri which is not part of normal happy hour was average at best, fish had been in the cooler for a while, could have been much fresher. Rice was not of crisp favor, could not nail down the issue, either stale or stored next to something. But overall no better than Nigiri available... More

Visited briefly for a takeaway whilst overnight in Boulder. Delicious sushi, reasonably priced. Prepared fresh, so a 20 minute wait for the food.

I went there with friends on a Sunday night and the place was hopping. The food was excellent. We had rolls, salads, miso, sushi, and sashimi, and it was all excellent. Zanmai was closed for their anniversary, and this was a worthy alternative.

Seasoned edamame was great, and our entrees were pretty good, but service was slow (the waitress seemed preoccupied with catching up with the hostess for quite a while) and the restaurant itself did not seem clean. Sticky substances on menus and the embellishments next to our table, and not the greatest impression of the bathroom. Our miso soup was forgotten,... More

We were doing a little shopping on Pearl Street and noticed a big crowd for lunch so decided to give it a try. We were seated at the sushi bar and was immediately greeted by our waiter and brought water. My wife had a spider roll and a couple pieces of sushi that were very good. I ordered a Chirashi... More

If definitely recommend this place for happy hour. The prices were very good at half off. The service was pretty good and friendly. I'd recommend this place. Plus it's in a cool area of town with a lot going on nearby.

First time visit. Amazing menu options broken up by beginner, intermediate and advanced sushi takers. :) Made it easy to order! The menu items are in alpha order and we landed on the Multiple Orgasm - enough said. You will NOT be disappointed! I was hungry and still couldn't finish this meal we SPLIT between the two of us -... More
