Very large restaurant, with a small rooftop communal dining area. We were lucky that a table opened up as we walked onto the roof. Servers bring a pitcher of water to each table and salsa. Food was very good, atmosphere and people were very nice. The view of the mountains and city of Boulder is great! If I am ever... More

I have been here a couple of times on business dinners. Such a fun place to eat. Very attentive wait staff and the food is decent. It will not be the best Mexican food you have ever eaten, but drink a couple of their house margaritas and you won't care!

Was craving a new mexican experience, so decided to try the Rio Grande one night. This is NOT Mexican, but more of a Californian take on Tex/Mex....and wasn't even a good take on that. While walk by this place for sure when in the area.

Good food but nothing special. We came here for drinks the first night of the trip and the last day of the trip we came to try different appetizers. Good place for drinks especially on the night they do College Margarita Night; they are strong and cost $4. There are not many Mexican restaurants in Boulder CO so if you... More

If you eat at Rio Grande in Boulder often you know it is inconsistent. Tonight was one of those nights. Ordered simple cheese enchiladas but without onions and hubby got fajitas. Order came and my enchiladas had lots of onions and had to be sent back. His beer was luke warm. We sat outside. I am giving it 3 stars... More

We came here for a retirement party for a colleague. We started out on the roof, which has an incredible view, but had to move indoors when there was a thunderstorm. The restaurant was overheated and humid, and service was slow. I had a Mojito Rio, made with cucumber, and it was wonderful. Others in our party raved about the... More

You can't beat the roof for a great place to have your food. GORGEOUS views of the mountains. However, they cool it on a hot day and water can accumulate on the umbrellas and spill down on you, so choose your table carefully. The food was awesome!! Very fresh and well prepared. A bit pricy, but worth it.

I loved the the braised pork tacos with slaw and grilled pineapple. The portion size was adequate, and the menu had several other unique options. Large seating area so a wait is unlikely.
