When we are nearing our trip to Boulder (several times a year) I make a reservation for Jax. From the drinks to the food to the service, it is always a great experience.

I'm not a calamari fan. Usually bland and rubbery. Not at Jax! Tender and flavorful! Nice selection of happy hour tapas and cocktails.

We've been going to Jax for Happy Hour ever since it opened, but I never bothered to write a review before. There are always a few people waiting outside for it to open at 4:00, just to get the best seats at the bar. They started taking reservations a couple of years ago, so make one if you want any... The service was top rate and the food was excellent. I had the Old School Tuna special which was amazing.

Interesting decor. Enjoyed the fried calamari, the Australian Sea Bass and the Grilled Pacific Swordfish. The waitress also recommended a nice bottle of Risling that complement all of the dishes. It was crowded, but understandable since the food was great. Would come back again.

The funky nautical decor and bustling vibe give Jax the look and feel of a coastal town eatery. Fortunately, the food stands comparison with anything on both waterfronts, despite Boulder's landlocked location. The kitchen makes a mean gumbo that satisfied even this child of the Texas Gulf Coast, and the fish specialties are succulently prepared and creatively accompanied by side... More

The best part about dining in Boulder is the incredible happy hours. Jax is no exception - great deals from 4:30pm - 6:30pm on apps and drinks. But be weary because the main courses are a bit expensive. I got the Sea Bass which was delicious. The polenta as like pillows of heaven. The rest of my party got the... More

Jay is one of our favorite places to eat when we go to boulder. Great food consistently and service is always good. Recommend a reservation because it's always busy and isn't a large place.

This restaurant rivals any restaurant on the coasts. the oysters are very good, firm and not slimy, as you may find in many places. There is a nice variety of seafood, and if you don't want seafood there are some other choices. The seafood was cooked well and the sauces were perfect; there are some very nice wine choices. The... Happy hour was very noisy, but it quieted down once that was over. The food was great. We shared a fired calamari. It's often tough when fried, but this was tender and served with an interesting combination of cream and chili sauces. For an entre, I had the special, a variation on traditional Korean bibimbap served with escolar. Creative, but... More
