Jay is one of our favorite places to eat when we go to boulder. Great food consistently and service is always good. Recommend a reservation because it's always busy and isn't a large place.

This restaurant rivals any restaurant on the coasts. the oysters are very good, firm and not slimy, as you may find in many places. There is a nice variety of seafood, and if you don't want seafood there are some other choices. The seafood was cooked well and the sauces were perfect; there are some very nice wine choices. The... Happy hour was very noisy, but it quieted down once that was over. The food was great. We shared a fired calamari. It's often tough when fried, but this was tender and served with an interesting combination of cream and chili sauces. For an entre, I had the special, a variation on traditional Korean bibimbap served with escolar. Creative, but... More

My wife and I eat here often. The oysters are bar none the best in Boulder. The setting is small & upbeat, literally a gem in the middle of Pearl St. Service is always top notch. The sauces on any of the fish dishes I have sampled have never let us down. If your out on a date or just... More

I have been eating at Jax for 18 years in my favorite town in the world, Boulder CO. My meal the other night was out of this world! The food is fresh and the flavors are crisp and delicious! The atmosphere is always fun and the bartender Brad makes the best margaritas in town. The wine selection is also fantastic!... More

Fun, trendy restaurant with an excellent selection of seafood. Vibrant crowd is part of the appeal. Would definitely eat here again.

Even though we had a reservation, we had to wait for 15 minutes. The restaurant is very loud when it is full and it is hard to understand the other people at you table. The decoration is sparse but ok. the food (fish) is great and very fresh. The oysters were simply absolutely great. The fish we had for the... More

I used previous trip advisor posts to pick Jax for dinner. I started with 1/2 dz kamamoto oysters on the half shell and my boyfriend ordered the peel and eat shrimp. Both dishes were excellent. We also ordered the seared tuna dinner to share. The tuna was a bit disappointing. We are used to seared tuna with a kick. This... More

We went as a party of 7 and had a great time. We had to make the reservation far in advance because the time we went (always perhaps?) was busy and there were few slots available. But when we added number 7 at the last minute they were very accommodating. It is a small place that gets a bit raucous.... More
