Always a Nice Treat

Had dinner this past Monday night with friends. Appetizers were delicious (meatballs, shrimp/grits). A bit disappointed that when we asked for a 2nd bottle of the wine we ordered, we were told they didn't have it. They should know better and tell you that when you order the first. But they had... read more

Had the Oak Grilled Pekin Duck from their Valentine's Day prix fixe menu. Simply excellent! Also the Hamachi Crudo appetizer paired with Odell Brewing's Friek Sour Ale ...amazing! Third time going to Oak... will be going much more.

We were celebrating DH's BIG birthday and our son made reservations at OAK. We hadn't been there in a while. Asked for a table in the back room and when we arrived at 5:30 PM last nite(Monday) it was delightfully quiet. We were not impressed with the wine list....but we are not experts.....and when our waitress, ANGIE, noticed my price... More

It hardly seems like a year ago that we were here. We had sampled a large selection previously but this time we focused. Their prime ribs were enormous and was shared between two very hungry guys. Those of us who chose the chicken could have shared but took some home for a very tasty snack. The wine list is extensive and... More

My husband and I have been to Acorn in Rino and like it very much. Tonight we had the opportunity to try Oak with friends. My husband and I like to try Manhattans at new restaurants. The ones at Oak did not disappoint in taste. But I do have to say that my husband's glass was only half full. Kind... More

We've been recommended to try this restaurant. It was hard to choose in the menu what to eat but we finally decided to go for a kale salad and a chicken salad. It was really good and we shared our plates. The only issue we had is that we were so sick straight after leaving the restaurant and both of... More

I have returned to this restaurant habitually. I have never been disappointed. Their meats and produce are of high quality and they cook it to perfection. They are very creative with their preparation and presentation. The service is excellent. They pay attention to all the details that make a meal enjoyable, i.e. They serve the tea hot in a hot... We had a fun NYE with another couple at Oak. Our server, Amy, was attentive in spite of the busyness and crowd. The menu was Fixed Price with three courses. My husband and I had the rib and egg starter. It was so interesting and tasty. One of servers explained how the kitchen prepared the soft boiled/deep fried egg. We... More

We stopped in Boulder on our way back to Denver. Had a late lunch at Oak with our 3 kids. Our food was excellent. The staff was great. Cool, compressed menu for lunch made it easy to order. Nice kids menu and they had etch-a-sketches for the kids. I read some of the other reviews before posted by this and... More

Fantastic cocktails. Hands down the most interesting ones we had on this trip. (Although the service was really really slow, not enough help behind the bar?) The smoked chicken was excellent but the brick oven puts off so much heat and smoke throughout the main dining room that it borders on uncomfortable. All in all it was good but just... More
