We've been recommended to try this restaurant. It was hard to choose in the menu what to eat but we finally decided to go for a kale salad and a chicken salad. It was really good and we shared our plates. The only issue we had is that we were so sick straight after leaving the restaurant and both of... More

I have returned to this restaurant habitually. I have never been disappointed. Their meats and produce are of high quality and they cook it to perfection. They are very creative with their preparation and presentation. The service is excellent. They pay attention to all the details that make a meal enjoyable, i.e. They serve the tea hot in a hot... We had a fun NYE with another couple at Oak. Our server, Amy, was attentive in spite of the busyness and crowd. The menu was Fixed Price with three courses. My husband and I had the rib and egg starter. It was so interesting and tasty. One of servers explained how the kitchen prepared the soft boiled/deep fried egg. We... More

We stopped in Boulder on our way back to Denver. Had a late lunch at Oak with our 3 kids. Our food was excellent. The staff was great. Cool, compressed menu for lunch made it easy to order. Nice kids menu and they had etch-a-sketches for the kids. I read some of the other reviews before posted by this and... More

Fantastic cocktails. Hands down the most interesting ones we had on this trip. (Although the service was really really slow, not enough help behind the bar?) The smoked chicken was excellent but the brick oven puts off so much heat and smoke throughout the main dining room that it borders on uncomfortable. All in all it was good but just... More

My husband and I ate at OAK while visiting Boulder last month. We had early reservations and were promptly sat at a very small table against the wall that made it nearly impossible to use the adjacent arm for anything. With a reservation, a better table would have been nice since the restaurant was not full. However, it's a small... More

The food needs a great deal of improvement . The chefs don't know how to marry ingredients to create dishes with harmonious flavors. They either combine the wrong flavors for the foods in question, or the dishes are "fade," French for flavorless. The ingredients may be fresh, but the chefs kill the ingredients with with misfit flavors and preparations. Learn... More

The "go to" place for inovative dining in Boulder. Both the food and service were excellent. The short ribs, shrimp and grits and fruit crumble were perfect.

The food at Oak is wonderful, but most of our party of four left feeling that it was very overpriced, especially for the portion sizes in some cases. The striped bass entree for $28 is literally 3 bites. I took one look at it and just knew that my husband was going to be hungry leaving the restaurant. He termed... More

My wife and I like to try all the 5280 Top Restaurants. So we were excited to get to Boulder and try out Oak at 14th. First off, the service was ok but not great. Our server was not get with recommendations, basically just listing down the menu. Thanks, we can read. We were asking for a little bit more... More
