Large Boulder restaurant right on Pearl Street. It has a lot of energy so it can by loud, Good food but not outstanding.

This used to be Tom's Tavern, which was well known as a dive bar, albeit with great burgers. Salt has maintained the burger tradition, but also has great locally sourced food and fantastic cocktails. I make sure to visit every time we go. Note: this is not a quiet place, so it's not the place for intimate conversation.

So we stopped here on a visit passing through Boulder and it was late around 845pm or so on a weds...but still pretty crowded. Overall it was not a bad choice: the burger I ordered was very good, locally sourced beef of course ;) and my husband's homemade pasta was tasty as well. The garlicy greens side dish was my... More

We had heard a lot of good things about Salt, so we stopped for lunch on a Friday afternoon. We dined outside because it was a gorgeous day! My husband got a burger, which he enjoyed. I had the sandwich/salad combo that came with a small desert. Our waiter was either busy or neglectful. We ran out of water several... More

Visited for lunch on a Saturday. The food and drinks were excellent. Very creative menu that is well-executed. The table-side service was attentive and sincere (not faux as so often happens at upscale eateries). However, the delivery of the food took much longer than it should have, and a BLT was initially missing the "B". With a little more focus... More

As others have mentioned, it is very much hit or miss at Salt. I've now given it three tries. The first time was for lunch. A friend and I sat outside, the food was decent, as was the service. So, my husband and I returned for dinner. We had made a reservation, so were seated right away. But, then we... More

We wanted to try one of the popular restaurants on Pearl Street. Despite the rainy Thursday August night, there were waits of up to an hour (so decide and book ahead). Salt’s wait was 15-20 minutes for an outside table, and they texted when it was ready. We got an inside table behind the hostess with a full view of... More

We were really looking forward to going to Salt. It was on the top of our list, me visiting for a short week in Boulder with a dear friend and foodie. We entered excited to view the menu and have some amazing food and some interesting drinks. Feeling social, we sat at the bar to chat with the bartender and... More

Came here for lunch recently, it was packed but since I had a reservation we were seated quickly. I ordered the Tom's Tavern burger and it came with fries and a special ketchup. Burger was ok, fries too salty. I was disappointed the burger by was cold and not toasted or warmed. My friend really enjoyed her cup of tomato... More

Passed by this place probably a dozen times; finally we went from the advice of neighbors. Very good food; tasty bread. Obviously, they deal in salt, and the bread and butter are a sensation unto themselves. WE won't pass by here, again - we'll be back!
