We ate at Grandpa's Cafe for lunch during the week upon recommendation from a local Berthoud resident and were really glad we did. This diner has an inviting atmosphere with friendly waitstaff, and we did not have to wait very long to receive our food once we ordered. Grandpa's features a daily lunch special - which was a Pulled Pork... More

We stopped for breakfast here and was very pleased by the food and the value. It's not many restaurants you go to where you can get a cup of coffee for under $2. I was very happy with my choice of breakfast as were my family. We all had different items and everyone was happy. Note: We went to the... More

Grandpa's has changed locations to a more modern, cleaner facility. Their food continues to be top notch, but their staff is a bit light on heavier days. To be fair it may be they aren't used to the ebb and flow of foot/car traffic in their new location; However, by paying attention to community events they may be able to... More

The food is your All-American fare of burgers and sandwiches which is tasty and has good size portions to them. The only negative I would offer is the noise from the wait staff as the girls were holding a very animated conversations between them all and seemed to be talking very loudly from one end of the restaurant to the... We went to Grandpa's for the first time on Mother's Day and had breakfast. My husband and I judge a new breakfast venue by the Chicken Fried Steak, one of our favorite diner meals. It was delicious! The eggs were cooked perfectly, great has browns and yummy gravy! I am so happy to have this little cafe close to home.... More

We had breakfast (omelettes, biscuits & gravy, and waffles). The food was great and very affordable. Our server was awesome - genuinely caring and eager to please. The atmosphere was old-town-country-quaint and (most important for me) clean. We got to meet the owners - they're great, friendly people. You can tell they take pride in their business.

We tried Grandpa's Cafe for the first time this evening and really enjoyed it! Serving sizes were large and the variety was great! Our party had breakfast, the catfish sandwich, the walleye sandwich and chicken friend chicken. You absolutely can't leave without trying the Cini-mini's! Yum! For $3.00 you get 3 very large cinnimon swirl pancakes with a cream cheese... More

Went to Grandpa's with a group of friends for mid-week late lunch. I ordered the burger prepared rare; it arrived well done. Better the second time, but it literally disintegrated when trying to eat it--absolutely impossible to hold in a bun. I ended up cutting the burger with a fork and knife. The hand-cut french fries were pretty good. The... More

Grandpas used to be ok but has gone down hill. Waitstaff is rude and never stops to actually talk to you they basically say stuff while on the go. Ordered the all American and they forgot the bacon. After asking about 5 minutes later we got the most burnt hard bacon I have ever seen and no way would we... More

I am sorry about your last experience at my cafe. We did have some staffing changes at the end of December. I think I have addressed the training issues that went along with that. I have since hired and trained newer cooks and wait staff to replace the long term staff that left. My business is based on loyal customers... More

If you like your chicken fried chicken fresh from the freezer then this is the place for you. Wait staff is friendly and they have Mountain Dew. So far it is a true dive
