Great atmosphere!

This was recommended to us by my sister who was here in February. We drove from Glennwood Springs (30 minutes) to try it. Loved the atmosphere here! We did have to wait about 30 minutes on a Sunday night. It is located in a upscale shopping and restuarant area. The fajitas had a great... read more

I've been going here for years and have never had a "bad" experience in terms of food. Sometimes on Fri/Sat they get really busy and you might have a 15-30 wait but it is so worth it. The staff is sweet and the food is tasty- what more can you ask for!

I visit Basalt regularly and it doesn't take much to get me in the mood for El Karita. The restaurant derives from a Nayarita heritage and their food is varied and hearty, served in a convivial atmosphere of brightly painted furnishings from Mexico. On this visit I sat at the bar and had the Seafood Molcajete. This dish comes out... More

This restaurant is always packed. However, we've had good food and not so good food, but never great food. The service is very slow. It is also a loud seating area unless you can snag a booth along the wall. We rarely go here anymore due to the prices, inconsistent food quality, and the terribly slow service.

Our party of four had an enjoyable meal. While not the best Mexican food we have ever had, the food was well prepared, served hot and tasty. The service was fine and the food was served promptly. Two of us had enchilada plates, one had chiles relleno and the fourth had a shrimp dish that was advertised as "hot" but... More

We asked a store clerk for a recommendation for a Mexican restaurant for lunch and he directed us to El Korita. We loved the food and the atmosphere and the service was friendly and efficient. There's a good variety of menu items at reasonable prices. We hope to return and bring our friends before we leave the Snowmass area. We... More

The seafood molcajete is quite phenomenal. The meat one is pretty good. I tried some of my wife's and kid's food, but those were decent but nothing to write home about. Haven't tried much else.

If you're wanting the Mexican feel, this place has it, with the colorful furniture and hanging paper flags. Oh, and the food is outstanding as well!! We went there with our family and everyone ordered something different and all were extremely pleased. I had the chicken taco salad and it tasted like a fajita in a crispy shell.

The food was terrific, and saved the day. We had the "7 Seas" soup, which was fantastic. Actually came with three oysters on the half shell, and they were fresh, a nice size, and delicious. Would never have thought Louisiana oysters would be available in the Aspen valley. The chicken & beef fajitas were also very good. One of our... More

Margaritas here are marvelous! Order a pitcher! Food is fantastic and very large portions, if you are not hungry, splitting an entree may work. Atmosphere is colorful and authentic. We eat here at least three times a year, and the service is always attentive. Children are welcome and large groups can be accommodated.
