We are a neighborhood-oriented, made from scratch, casual restaurant. The feel is young, hip transcending the perception of BBQ restaurants past. Serving a variety of draft and bottled microbrews representing local breweries and popular brews from great BBQ regions (Texas, the Carolinas, Memphis/Arkansas and Kansas City) we feature an approachable wine list and a full line of spirits. The menu is driven by the chefs and their Southern roots, the Great American BBQ traditions as well as seasonal and regional products.

Our first night of a 5 day ski vacation. We were looking for some bourbon, single malt scotch and a light dinner. This place fit the bill perfectly. I had the mac & cheese with pulled pork and green chilies, and my BF had the side Caesar salad and a burger. We were both very happy with our food and... More

Large takeout order that included the combo plates with a mix of sides - the food was excellent across the board- wish we had ordered more smoked sausage. The chicken, brisket and ribs were fantastic and the burnt end mac & cheese is a must.

We were visiting a friend who lives in Basalt now, although she moved from Texas where we live. When she suggested the BBQ at Smoke, we were skeptical. BBQ is a religion in Texas. However, we were very pleasantly surprised that Smoke did a good job with the 'Que. The only complaint I have is that there wasn't enough pulled... More

Some of the finest ribs on the planet .. !! Moist, so tender, nice color and tasty rind .. NOT, overcooked and falling off the bone ... Rock solid Southern style Bar-B-Q with excellent sides and service .. who says a Bar-B- Q joint can't have cloth napkins ?? Only downside is occasionally inconsistent .. if they aren't as described,... More

I stopped in to pick up some takeout and when I went to pay the bill, I noticed that the price was more than I had seen online when I placed the order. I then picked up a takeout menu from the stack on the counter. When I mentioned it to the guy assisting me, his reply was - you... More

Return visit when I was visiting Glenwood Springs. Conveniently located off of 82 near Basalt in a newly developed area.Menu offerings are good for both lunch and dinner. I have had various BBQ items and this last time I had their famous mac/cheese which comes in different flavors..yum. They also offer a nice variety of wines and beers and some... More

This little place in Basalt has some of the best legitimate BBQ in the state! I am from Texas and, while I understand that BBQ tastes vary from state to state, Smoke's BBQ comes the closest I've tried to "sure enough BBQ!" (as my grandmother used to say). The meat has a wonderful wood-smoked taste, is very moist, and there... More

Everything always seems over smoked. More like liquid smoke than wood smoked. I do LOVE the okra! Wow! The shrimp taco one if my faves

Dilemma: asked a local for a steak dinner that didn't need $$$, a reservation, a long drive, or a fancier dress code, "Go to Smoke." A BBQ joint that offers smoked prime rib. I really like BBQ, but I really needed a big chunk of red meat. So the smoke prime was my choice. Good choice. It was a generous,... More
