Oh man...this restaurant is the best for smoked meat dishes. Sooooo good!!! I went to Smoke while in Basalt on business. I ordered take out, but, had a very hard time deciding what to order because they had so many good things on the menu. Went with the Philly Cheesesteak and was not disappointed. If you are a cheesesteak fan... More

The BBQ was very good. I got the sausages and my friend got the ribs. They were both very good. Not as a good as you are going to find in Kansas City - but great BBQ for the region. The beans were really good and the bacon wrapped shrimp was excellent. The service was prompt and attentive. Very pleasant... More

I grew up outside Memphis, TN so when I hear "BBQ", my expectations are high, I will admit. However, I never, ever in my entire life expected to eat the best smoked chicken in the state of Colorado, but that's exactly what happened. I was in utter shock! In fact, my husband couldn't believe that I ate my entire meal... More

We ordered a meal to go on our first night in town. Food was good and as expected from the other reviews. Pricing was in line with other local places. We would eat here again and give it a good recommendation. It is close to the grocery stores, so we shopped while they were preparing our food.

They have the best cheesy grits. Even if you don't like grits you'll love them. Kids love the mac and cheese. Super cheesy and yummy. Not much option for vegetarian but there is a couple options.

Smoke Modern BBQ is located among new, sort of modern western buildings, between Basalt and Carbondale. It offers a nice concept: real smoked BBQ served in a nice restaurant rather than a road-side dive. Busy on a Thursday evening, buzzing with a manageable noise level, Smoke's service was prompt and professional. Two of us shared ribs and brisket with mac... More

Smoke is one of our "go to" restaurants. They have great, consistent service and food. Lunch specifically is a great option with fast service. Their southwest salad is one of the best I've ever had - the shrimp make it that great! Pulled pork and sweet potato fries are the best around. All meals can be shared with a girlfriend;... More
