Homey place where the locals eat

Poor George's was recommended to us as a b'fast spot during our drive home from California-it was a welcome treat from all of the chain restaurants. I had the pancakes (huge!) which were okay, but the best were my delicious poached eggs and toast, and my husband devoured his b'fast platter that had... read more

I always eat here whenever I come here for business. The food's great and the service is top-notch. Reminds me of my own hangout locally. Old-fashioned, quaint and a pure joy to come here. Everything is excellent!

We stopped here after the balloon Fair in Montague. The place was packed and they only had one waitress. We waited 20 minutes to order and an hour and a half to get our food. Food was COLD and the service was very poor. The restaurant is clean but food not very good. We won't be going back.

I wanted to like this place, I really did want to! We went in when no one was there at 10:30 at night. They were out of ranch, salad, hamburgers and other things. So we ordered a club sandwich with potato salad to go. It took over 35 minutes to make us Two sandwich. The potato salad had something in... More

We went there for breakfast at 9:30 am, there was one other person there getting ready to leave, we were seated, and brought menus and coffee. We then waited for fifteen minutes with no one coming to take our order, so we got up and went to the register. The cashier looked at us surprised, then looked over at the... More

We stopped in for breakfast. Carol had the eggs over easy with bacon and a side of biscuits and gravy. The eggs were a little too greasy, but tasty and the 4 huge slices of thick bacon were delicious. The biscuits and gravy filled a giant plate to overflowing. But, the flavor was average at best. Too much flour made... More

I have ate at this place several times and it is the most food you will find in Yreka. It is also great food. I like there breakfast food the best. Great food, lots of it, and a great price.

This place was recommened to us by Heidi, the front office staff at the Holiday Inn Express. At first we almost did not stop. It looks marginal from the outside----the type of place we would not normally stop at for food. But we are sure glad we made the effort. We were greeted by a great smile by the hostess... More

Prompt and efficient service with ample portions of tasty food at a reasonable price. Homey atmosphere. Local hotspot. Friendly, down to earth waitresses.

If you're not in a hurry, hurry on in here. The food is worth waiting for. The price is right. The folks are folksy. Service is consistently good.
