Tasty Food

Hostess was not friendly at all. Food is served family style with one choice only. We had a pork loin as a main course and it was excellent. I am not a big pork eater but still thought it was very tasty. Salad was fresh and very good. Cheese was a hearty portion and very tasty. Dessert was... read more

This was our third visit to Ad Hoc, and we purposely planned it for a Monday night hoping to finally try their legendary fried chicken. SUCCESS!!! Unlike seemingly a lot of other reviews, we have never once experience poor service - and this time was no exception. Very attentive, very responsive, but in no way hovering. Now for the meal...... I am so surprised to see so many negative reviews here! I guess some of the experience depends on what is being served at Ad Hoc on the night you go. I found the restaurant itself to be beautiful, but not pretentious. The atmosphere is very friendly and inviting, and our server was one of the nicest I've ever had.... More

My wife and I celebrated her birthday here a few weeks ago and had a fantastic meal. We loved the concept of the restaurant and the execution was great. Terrific meal, great service, felt like we got a bargain for the $.

In making the reservation, the prospective diner knows that this restaurant takes prix fix to the next level---meal fixe. I underestimated the absence of having even limited choice on the dining experience. With everyone receiving the same four courses, the pace of the meal is altered. The anticipation of the next course, the interest in what your table mates have... More

Went to Ad Hoc for dinner while staying for pleasure in Yountville. I travel to Napa/Sonoma a few times a year and have been absolutely dying to try this place. If you've never been, you must know that there is no real menu. There is one dish served daily with an optional side, a salad, cheese, and dessert. No substitutions.... More

The French Laundry isn't going to happen for awhile (I'm a teacher), but Ad Hoc is within my price range. This is a fun, casual experience, that still allows you to experience some of the Keller magic. For $140 for my husband and I, it was. Meal worth repeating. The food is family style, and there is plenty of it.... More

It was a choice because French Laundry and every other restaurant we wanted to go to was booked. Casual dinning as the menu is preset and the wine list was ok. I think we brought in our own. Toured the kitchen amazing how they make such good food in small space. Nothing but positive and who doesn't LOVE Chef Thomas... More

Got to agree with review below. Went last night. Paella was the main dish. Over salty chicken legs and thighs, under cooked mussels and just not that tasty was the consensus of my party of 4. Boring and bad. Dessert was a breakfast bun with ice cream. Fav part of meal was crackers with cheese. Not what you expect for... More

I've tried both Per se and Bouchon before this, so had a lot of expectations for Thomas Keller restaurants. The ambience was great and the food was good, but I just expected a lot more from a prix-fix menu. I wished there was more choices for each course, because none of the individual course made real impressions on me.
