OK, maybe some folks think me crazy, but we turned down an offer to get a table at French Laundry to dine here. No regrets! It was fabulous! The table we had outside was just far enough from the next table to maintain a serene dinner atmosphere - sometimes when you sit outside, it feels less formal or special ---... More

Unbelievably good (especially for such a young chef). Ambience, service, menu, but most especially the food. Superlatives are not enough. Do not know which is better: the presentation or the taste itself. Four of us so I tasted about a dozen dishes. Place is consistently a hole in one.

I am an excellent writer - with all due humility. I am not capable of describing our superb lunch at étoile. It was equal or better than any meal that we have enjoyed anywhere in the world. The service matched the food. The ambiance matched both. I am writing this review after a disastrous dinner at Redd and a great... More

Our first visit was so wonderful I remember the fabulous flavor of the rabbit I was served. We were very young and it was our first visit to Napa valley. The winery and restaurant had recently opened, so after our winery tour we stayed for lunch. This time we had lunch in the same outdoor setting as the first time.... More

My wife and I dined here 29 years ago and looked forward to eating here again. We were not disappointed. Be sure to ave a reservation. This is great for a late lunch after visiting a couple of wineries in Napa or St Helena. Very quiet and romantic with of course excellent wines. Service was excellent. No problem with gluten... We selected the six course tasting menu with accompanying wine selection. Including the amuse bouche and sweet tray there were actually eight courses plus the palate cleansing ice and eight wine selections. Every item was superb, with flavours popping at every bite. Our chief wait person Suzanne gave excellent service and information.

We went for dinner last weekend for a vacation weekend in Yountville and had easily booked for a reservation online. The decor is excellent and the staff superb. Our waitress gave us very good advice on the food and she had a great sense of humor and wonderful knowledge about the menu. Really enjoyed her service. And the food was... More

We recently travelled around S California, ate at many good restaurants, many with the old Michelin stars, and this stood out. Great service, ambiance , wonderful menu cooked to perfection with the very best produce. Not a cheap meal, but great value. I would go back repeatedly until I had no money left! Good portions, great wines and a great... More

While the atmosphere was nice, the food was not very good and the service was blah. Maybe it was the time of the year, but with all the "build up" for this place, it was, at best, disappointing. At least the surrounding area is nice and the wines very, very good. Drink, but let the dining pass to somewhere else.
