excellent food and service, beautiful setting

only my second time here (although I live pretty close) but I plan on coming back more often. great experience from start to finish. typical Silicon Valley patrons, some dressed very nicely, some in tee shirts, but the decor is definitely on the nicer side. don't be afraid to dress up for dinner... read more

The ambience is lovely. Feels like an old English pub in New Hampshire. The service was impeccable. I think I might have enjoyed it more for dinner rather than lunch, even though it was a celebration lunch that warranted something upscale. When the only thing on the menu that's appealing is a hamburger and fries you know this isn't your... More

Lunch at the Woodside Pub is always a treat. Service is impeccable, the food delectable, and the ambience, despite full tables, calm. Four of us spent a leisurely two hours wandering from poached mussels free from their shells, complimentary cups of borchst, a dozen charcuterie items, duck confit, omelette with brie, chicken salad, various sorbets, and a pear tart. Ample... More

The menu and food is great, taking advantage of the freshest local produce and top fish, meat and poultry sources; the staff is knowledgeable and attentive. The wine list is encyclopedic, capable of impressing any oenophile; however, the % markups are high generally, but I have recently noticed value wines when the sommelier has made negotiated deals with winemakers.

The only problem I have at the Village Pub is that the door is held open even on cold nights and those of us sitting in the way of the wind are definitely cold. The last time we ate there, we sat at the bar instead and although it was not far from the door it was a much more... More

The food was exquisite - every course was delicious and beautiful. It is very expensive (think $100+ a person, easily, with appetizer, entree, dessert, wine) but one of the best meals - food wise - I've ever had. So it is a 5-start on food. But it is a 3-star on service, which was extremely slow. The server was very... More

Met a few colleagues here on a Wednesday night and it was crowed. Seems to be a very popular spot! Tucked back behind a small strip mall it was very hard to find even with GPS. Look for the Coldwell Banker real estate office. The decor is nicely up scale and the food is very good. The wine list, on... More

A friend of ours recommended this restaurant so we gave it a try for our anniversary dinner. Without a doubt their strongest attribute is their service, followed closely by the food. All of their staff was very attentive and friendly, we never felt rushed, and I don't think my water glass ever got below half empty. My only complaint about... More

The location is a pleasant surprise in the secluded wooded area of San Francisco peninsula, the layout of the restaurant is welcoming and inviting, the fireplace and organization is superb. The beverages, the wine list is just right. The menu combination of delightful selections, the deserts are well made and delicious. One should not spoil the experience by looking at... More
