Great place for a casual, romantic or business meal.

There are precious few restaurants along Skyline Blvd on the San Francisco peninsula all the way from south of Hwy 17 to South San Francisco. But, situated high up on the main peninsula ridge line, the Mountain House in Woodside, a few miles south of Hwy 92 is a clear winner on food, service, and... read more

I've been here a few times, and I've had an array of experiences from great to meh. I usually order from the bar menu rather than the main and while the service is always friendly, it's not necessarily a standout place. The last time I was there, I had the elk burger and it was a bit overcooked and dry.... More

Even though we live fairly near, we only go here once a year or so. We should go more often. It is set in the woods along a road with a beautiful view of the bay. They have a covered outside seating area that is so nice on a pretty evening looking out at the trees and other greenery. The... More

I have been here many times but the last time I went I decided to get something different. I opted for the rack of lamb and so did my husband. It was super. The portion was large, 6 chops accompanied by aldente vegetables. I also had the spinach and kale salad which was very good. It was my husband's birthday... More

Food, atmosphere, service, all excellent! You will love it but make a res, way up in the mountain on Skyline so don't be in a hurry.

This place is not easy to get to but definitely worth the effort. The menu is extensive and very interesting (I had the elk medallions), the setting is charming and the waitstaff attentive.

We love Mountain House. We have been going there for years. It's great for a couples night out, or a large family gathering. The menu is amazing. The meat/fish selection is second to none. We love the elk, bear, boar, and whatever else surprises us on the daily menu.

We reserved our table via open table and noted this was our anniversary dinner. I have dietary requirements and they were very helpful picking a meal Venison that was relatively low in fat with steamed veggies the side. My wife had a prawn meal that I can't remember the name of, we both loved the food and cleaned our plates.... More
