Not Good

Very over rated and expensive for what it is. Food average and tables very close together. Was very disappointed as expected good things.

You go back in time.. Dimitri holds court over the crowd and if you know him by name it will help a lot. Tuxedoed gentleman with glasses and an accent that cannot be forgotten.

Restaurant location is very cool, just on Sunset Boulevard. Atmosphere is cozy and cool, very refined people (you may meet Hollywood celebrities over there!), very dark dining area and, and I would say, very "London look" ambience. Crowded during weekends, but that's LA! Menù is typically American taste, however food quality is very good. Booking is necessary. Recommended, if you... More

Low lights, dark booths, bartenders in white jackets... a scene from the 50's and 60's or more recently "Mad Men" with a terrific view of the city at night. Well worth the price of a Manhattan or Old Fashion to soak in the atmosphere and check out "the scene". I can imagine Dino and Frank having a drink here when... More

Outstanding cuisine and service in every way. The maitre'd, Dimitri is exceptional, and our waiter Max was superb! Choose from an impressive menu of steaks, seafood, foul and vegetarian selections. The shrimp cocktail and deviled eggs with caviar were fabulous. The Alaskan Halibut was delicious. Desserts are custom made for each person in your party. Cocktails are well chilled and... More

Dark, lots of wood, old-fashioned styling, bartenders that can mix wonderful and weird cocktails nobody has heard of. I must be in the Tower Bar. But the food is excellent, topflight cuisine. I wish the food came with less attitude, but one needs to take the good with the bad.

If you're in LA and looking for a "Old Hollywood" place to eat, Tower Bar might seem like an obvious choice... but there are many more authentic options that really were hotspots in the Hollywood glory days - Tower Bar has been around less than 10 years. The food is pretty good - yummy French fries, some good seafood options,... More

We were lucky enough to visit with friends who happen to be living there for a time and were seated at what I considered one of the best tables in the bar...I think it is so quaint that all tables are nice. We had terrific service and the food was lovely. Saw 3 or 4 celebs while there which made... More

Start out with a drink in the lounge by the fireplace and then move into the dining room for your meal. The food is very tasty (maybe the reason one can sometimes see a celebrity) and simply elegant. The fries are amazing and they have a very nice cocktail list.

Iconic hotel; sensational view; menu well priced for the are and worth every penny. LA spread out before you. Forces you to linger and enjoy more. Lunch is a delight and the evening view is legendary. Service impeccable.

Staying in West Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
