Fun but crowded

Holy busy!  Came here on my one night in town and had a good time, you just couldn't move it was so busy and dancing was out is the question. I found it a rather constant struggle to not get the drink knocked out of my hand. Having said that, they are the best known bar around and the dancers... read more

We love the Abbey. Each time I go to LA, the Abbey is a must. A little pricey for top shelf but you're in LA, you should expect that. A perfect place to have a good time. Try and walk there, the Drinks are very strong

We went to The Abbey a couple of night in a row as we had a convention in the city and for a bunch of gays and lesbians, this seemed like the best choice. And it was! I can't remember the last time I walked into a bar and felt like this. It's such an open and friendly atmosphere and... More

My sister and I had our drinks spiked in this establishment. We were unconscious but instead of the police being called we were sent to our hotel via a taxi where paramedics were then called!!! Awful experience we don't know what happened to us or how long we were unconscious. So much for going to a fun gay bar where... More

I was really excited to hang out there on a Sunday for brunch...however so were a lot of other people. I think the best times for this place are during the week and during the day when its not so crowded. Sundays are crowded if you're not into that. The food is very good. I had an Ahi Tuna Salad... Maybe because we are french and because our accent is really bad, or for anorher unknown reason... But our lunch here was horible, there was 2 guys for the service... The first one looked very friendly, unfortunately we had the second one... Any attention, 30 minutes to change our glass of wine because he made an error ... Any smile,... More

We sat here and waited for a long time. We didn't even see any member of staff. I don't think it's my job going looking for the staff. This was really bad! Leaving for something else.

We visited both Thursday & Friday nights. They had multiple dancers on both nights. While the place was rather crowded it wasn't impossible to get a drink and the bartenders, especially Mark from London, were very friendly and attentive. The only thing that was a drawback for me and my friends being from the east coast was the pervasive smoking.... More

Staying in West Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
