When you mention WeHo bars, this is generally the first place that people think of. It's big, loud and been there the longest. It's nice... serves food during the day. Has a pretty good coffee shop with pastries too.

Our waiter was excellent once they realized we were there. He was very friendly and helpful - kept checking on us and refilling glasses as fast as we were drinking. For the price, I was expecting more. With that said, the food was decent-just nothing to write home about. We had tacos and salads. Tacos were from the "share" menu,... More

We always try to eat here when we are in town for LA Pride. Food is served fast and is amazingly delicious. At night the place becomes a night club and is jammed pack with people. Really hard to move around to have a good time but that was to be expected since it was LA Pride. Will definatly be... More

Expected the worst and we were right - very pretentious to say the least (was expecting that really) but nothing special at all

While in West Hollywood, we knew The Abbey was going to be a definite location. We went for Sunday brunch and it was amazing! The Bloody Mary's were delicious and well portioned as were our meals. Excellent wait staff, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was a nice mixture of laid-back people, people watching is a must. Decor is attractive with... More

After leaving Pump with our assorted entourage of locals we headed to The Abbey. It was midnight on a Sunday and it was packed! Loud music, loud locals and very loud drinks. The wife danced with near naked male go-go dancers and seemed to specially enjoy tucking $'s into their G-strings! Drinks are strong and the place rocked. We had... More

We love the Abbey. Each time I go to LA, the Abbey is a must. A little pricey for top shelf but you're in LA, you should expect that. A perfect place to have a good time. Try and walk there, the Drinks are very strong

We went to The Abbey a couple of night in a row as we had a convention in the city and for a bunch of gays and lesbians, this seemed like the best choice. And it was! I can't remember the last time I walked into a bar and felt like this. It's such an open and friendly atmosphere and... More

My sister and I had our drinks spiked in this establishment. We were unconscious but instead of the police being called we were sent to our hotel via a taxi where paramedics were then called!!! Awful experience we don't know what happened to us or how long we were unconscious. So much for going to a fun gay bar where... More

Staying in West Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
