We had a most spectacular meal at Sushiya. The appetizers were great, the best of them the Tuna carpaccio and also the spicy tuna chips. The lobster roll was ok and the dim sums also. The children had fried rice with chicken which was also appreciated.

I love sushi. I have had great sushi. Sushiya on Sunset is good sushi but the location is spectacular. Imagine sitting late at night in January on Sunset Boulevard people watching and having creamy rock shrimp tempura, mini burgers (yes mini burgers...they are yummy), etc. The crowd is eclectic. The food is good. The location is one of a kind.

super nice place with very good sushi. it's not posh as katana or nobu, but quality is super good. fried rice with salmon or tuna are very good. service is excellent. it's a nice friendly place to go to, with amazing food.

Our first meal in LA and it wasn't great. Poor service from all we had contact with. Sushi was average and our meal was expensive.

I dined here with a local friend of mine on my last business trip to Los Angeles and frankly, we gorged ourselves on the delicious sushi/fushion offerings of this well-situated Sunset eatery. We sat on the patio, which offered plenty of people - watching options, but wow, I only had eyes for the various spicy tuna (or Crab or Chicken... More

Was not a fish fan until now. The staff were very helpful in allowing me to tinkle my tastebuds. Great location with comfortable alfresco dining available. Between myself and a friend we had mini cobe burgers, salmon teriyaki, salmon sashimi and a Gossy Roll topped off with Green Tea ice cream (delicious). Great atmosphere for a little social interaction. Perfect... More

We loved our meal here. The restaurant was packed with families, couples, lots of different types of people and everyone was enjoying their meal. Food was fresh, service was prompt and the price is great. Loved it.

service and food both excellent - generally in LA I find you get one but not the other, making Sushiya a standout

Looking for a quick bite on Sunset Blvd, I found the Sushiya opening for dinner on a Sunday and grabbed a place at the bar. I tried some interesting hand rolls, mainly one made with albacore and crunchy onions. The yellowtail and scallops were really fresh. But the cold sake wasn't cold enough.

This place is a great location (parking in the rear lot-necessary around here) for people watching, but the sushi is only so-so. The staff was uber-helpful, and easily exceeded the quality of the food. Still, if you are hungry after a morning at Book Soup, you could do worse.
