Amazing food, but expensive for the portion sizes

We had a delicious dinner at Katana whilst staying just down the road at the Andaz West Hollywood. Sitting on the patio over the Sunset Strip was fabulous, and the food is second to none. However, like many LA eateries, the portion sizes are small and the prices are large!

W e were looking forward to this visit as they have had the best Yakitori in the US. This time was a disaster. They tried to place our party of three on a corner table at the entrance, which we refused to accept. Then we ordered starters, quite a few skewers and drinks, beer and requested hot sake to the... gorgeous outdoor balcony seating enhances the exotic feeling of Katana. Large menu to linger over and you can order dishes throughout the meal, as you move through the choices. All food is high quality and interesting, like the shiseko (?) peppers, chicken knuckles, miso glazed shrimp, jidori chicken, spider rolls...I need to go back! The low tables and candles enhance... Top shelf food prepared by skilled practitioners in the art of Japanese cuisine. Bit pricey but given the quality and the experience think it delivers overall. Best seat in the house? Skip the table and pull up a seat at the bar and enjoy the banter between the chefs as they prepare vast array of dishes. Staff professional but friendly

This is one of the best Japanese restaurants I have been to. Yes it is a little expensive but wow, but the food is different to any other I have been to before. It is authentic but new and exciting at the same time. Fresh and tasty. We left there delighted and full! The staff were great. I Loved looking... More

I ate at the sushi bar last night. I had a wonderful experience. My server, Aleksandra, was very sweet. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Obviously, the sushi was outstanding!!

I have to be honest and say Katana is really good, but not great. A little over priced for what you get. Some dishes were good while some were very ordinary. Overpriced drinks, however you are in West Hollywood. Unfortunately, can't say I'd go back.

We ate here for a private dinner so we got to sample a wide variety of food. Everything was delicious , but my favorite was the lamb chops and the shrimp.. This is a upscale classy must try restaurant on the strip. My favorite restaurant in the area.

Sushi and sashimi of the highest quality. Inventive Asian dishes and loads of choice. This place caters well for groups and the space is very nice both inside and on the patio.

Impressive Asian cuisine with great atmosphere - i would call it romantic+lounge. Try tables outside.
