In contrast to many West Hollywood places that can be stuffy and old world, Lucques has at once a contemporary feel and a classic menu with superb service. Our party was unanimous in its praise for the sea bass, steak, short ribs, and lamb.

Dropped in for lunch while strolling down Melrose avenue and was really impressed. The place is walking distance from the new Restoration Hardware store. Service is attentive, food was great (by far, the best designer burgers and grilled cheese we ever had). There is a nice terrace at the back that was being set-up for a private event. Would not... We'd been to Lucques in the past and had a very good dinner. For some reason, either enticed by the flash of new or too sedentary, it took its annual cassoulet dinner to bring us back. The cassoulet with its duck confit and Toulouse sausage, savory white beans and bread crumb crust will forever be remembered, along with the wine... More

While the food was fairly decent and up to restaurant's reputation, several things were disappointing and everyone should be aware of it. Number 1, when presented with the bill, there was additional 3% "L.A. Health" tax. When I inquired from the waiter, one of them couldn't even explain it. Then the manager was called in and we were told that... More

One of the best in the LA area. Great ingredients, carefully chosen and tastefully prepared. Everything was excellent from the beginning to the end.

I hadn't been to Lucques in a few years - mostly because we are last minute reservation makers - but got in with a client. The purpose of the dinner was the thank them, and do something nice. Lucques did not disappoint. From the moment the olives/almonds came to the table til that last cup of wonderful coffee, its a... More

We went for the Dine LA week. Was big let down. They are very nice people no doubt about that, however we are there to eat. The menu was very limited for Dine LA and saving were $10 at best. So no spectacular advantage there. Root vegetables & burrata was uninspired. Main course was old slightly stinky fish- it was... More

If you are looking for food of exceptional quality that is innovative without being over-the-top, this may be the place for you. I especially enjoy the prix fixe menus on Sundays, when the restaurant is filled with locals and regulars.

Sunday Supper here was very good, if not spectacular. Limited (Prix Fixe) menu, app salads were solidly good, entrée steak was mediocre (a bit tough), entrée Steelhead "Salmon" (a Steelhead is a sea-run Rainbow Trout, not a salmon, but anyway) was delicious, perfectly cooked, and beautifully sauced. Dessert tart was good. Service was attentive, helpful, enthusiastic, and professional. Very comfortable... More

Staying in West Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
