Great burgers but everything else, fries etc. are extra. Pricey and service pretty manic and not great. Seating at the counter fun.

Stopped by in mid-afternoon prior to attending a t.v. event. If nothing else, walking through the lobby, enjoying the artifacts amid the early 20th C. designed Old California architecture was a treat in itself. We managed to order some "treats" before things closed down before the dinner hour. Were attended to very nicely by our waiter who made sure that... More

We went to Public Kitchen and Bar on Saturday night for drinks and a light feed. Speaking to the very helpful bartender, we quickly found ourselves with oysters and bottle of wine, both of which perfectly complimented each other and of course tasted delicious. We also came here for dinner one night during our stay, again was a pleasant experience.

The menu is Public kitchen and bar! Great grilled charred Octopus! Off the hook good and the bartender Alex was the best, he made the evening! This place truly understands the meaning of handcrafted drinks!

We could see why this place was highly rated by other fellow trip advisors. The seafood was fantastic. Oysters were fresh and sweet. Diver scallops were juicy and tender. My kids enjoyed the burger and pasta. Had chocolate lava cake to round things up. Great dinner and service!

Burgers were great at all times of the day. Breakfast was wholesome and Omlettes were great with fruit to start the day. service was ok but pricing was pretty tough.

We (three couples) had dinner here last night. Honestly, the food is good, but the service one of the worst I've ever encountered. This is my first review ever, so it was that BAD. Here some details why: -Not a single smile from our waitress all night long while she was automatically getting a 18% tip since we were a... More

The scallops were great! I was a little disappointed with the fact that they no longer offer half litres of wine (which is on their menu). The food was great and the service was adequate (nothing special). I would recommend staying away from the fish and chips though - my husband ordered that and didn't think that it was anything... We were staying at the Roosevelt and decided to pop down for happy hour. Apart from nice cheap drinks we tried the happy hour menu. Meatballs and the pate. They were both fabulous, I highly recommend. The kale salad guys next door to us were having also looked yum.

I generally don't expect much from a hotel restaurant but this was quite good. Ambiance is casual and fairly rustic so you don't have to get too dressed up. I had the Hamachi appetizer and "Chicharonnes", deep fried pork belly served with a spicy aioli. Lovely stuff and perfectly cooked. Like everywhere here it's not cheap, but the food was... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighborhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
