Planned to eat here after our tour of Joss House SP. Made that decision based on all the reviews here (Trip Advisor). Our Joss House tour guide, Jack Frost, informed us that La Grange Cafe was closed. The owner passed away last week (November 2014). It is unclear what will become of the restaurant. Sure enough, we went to Olsen's... More

We had lunch at La Grange and enjoyed the experience. The interior is roomy and full of historic memorabilia, so fun to look around while waiting for our meal. We both had the Portobello mushroom sandwiches with sweet potato fries. The sandwiches were good; although I'd recommend a bread/bun with more texture and flavor. The sweet potato fries were very... After a very scenic drive along RT299 in the mountains, a quick bite to eat was welcome. The restaurant is fun to visit in older Weaverville. Imagine the past and the bustle of people as they lived in the early beginnings. The food itself is nothing to write home about and the service not the best, but it was fun... More

I recently dined at the La Grange Café with a very large group of people. The service was great and the menu has something for everybody! The portions were reasonable and the food was very good. It was pretty busy on a Saturday night.

We stopped for lunch on trip home due to reviews and was not disappointed. The food and service was very good and interior was neat. We sat next the bar that said sit here and have a drink. It is in the middle of a old mining town, so after eating you can stroll the neat shops there.

The La Grange is the place for dinner in Weaverville. We were there on a Thursday night and just walked in. There were quite a few tables filled, but we were seated right away. On the weekends, a reservation would be smart. I'm a vege, so I had the pasta dish, which was tasty. My wife had the halibut special,... More

Varied and enjoyable menu for two nights eating there. I had boar and venison sausage one night; pot roast the next. The wine selection was incredible for such a rural setting and were priced just a tad above what you would pay at a store.

Nice menu. Ate their twice. Pot roast was amazing. Didn't expect to find such a wide selection of wines and at bargain prices. Staff very helpful and pleasant. There is a bar area which was very well stocked.

The best part of this restaurant is the setting in an historic building with a brick-wall interior. The bar in the other room looked like a nice place to have a drink. The menu was varied, without being overly ambitious. The pasta dish was tasty. The smoked chicken salad was a bit odd, with a mushy texture to the smoked... More
