A local favorite, The Nugget serves downhome food in decently large portions, and service is great. If you are into hearty homecooked fare, in a super casual atmosphere, and want to hang with the locals, this is the place to go.

We had a nice breakfast at this clean, friendly diner. Food is fresh and made to order. The restaurant is clean and they had a delicious French toast made with fresh thick slices of cinnamon bread.

The Nugget is not a pretentious restaurant that tries to cash in on Weaverville's Gold Rush history. It is simply a good diner with good food. It was fine really, but average is fair. My husband had a sandwich and I had soup. Both could be classified as average. Would we return? Well, maybe if we just wanted something quick

but it's a heck of a bargain for the $2.99 breakfast special of two eggs, toast and hash browns. Service was fast even though they had a mostly full house due to fire crews working in the area.

We try to look for restaurants that locals frequent because they are normally very good. This was no exception. We ate at The Nugget for breakfast and it was very reasonably priced, good size portions, excellent service and good food. Can beat that. Relaxed atmosphere, nice people.

Great staff and great value menu. Food was excellent.
