We have lived in Sacramento over 40 years and had never ventured to this place. It was an easy drive from Sacramento with lots of time for conversation with with friends. When we arrived, we were seated in a sunny indoor courtyard right away with mimosas. Note: We didn't know it when we made the reservation, but we could have... More

I went with two friends for Sunday Brunch-We Loved It. From the wonderful gentlemen concierge to the great waiters-it was a very enjoyable day. The food was very good and the Mimosa's were non-stop, We really enjoyed that they let you look at some of the guest rooms and the beautiful downstairs. The grounds are gorgeous. A great hidden gem... More

I wouldn't return here for the Brunch . The French toast, prime rib, and crepes were very good, but I was disappointed by the Eggs Benedict because the Canadian ham and English muffin were so tough that I had a lot of trouble cutting through them. I really enjoyed looking around the Mansion, but I wouldn't want to stay there.... More

We were looking forward to a special meal since it was our anniversary. We arrived walked around the grounds they were nice. Walked inside, the building had that old musty smell. It wasn't overpowering but it was there. We were seated towards the back of the room. They said it was the ballroom/dining room. They couldn't tell me if it... More

Whether you have an event or just want to sight-see, this is a jaw dropper of a place. Beautiful sculptures, lovely gardens, imposing views, intimate spots to sit and chat or reflect.

I attended a Friends wedding here recently and was bedazzled by the ceremony, the service and the digs! The Mansion was indeed Grand with a sparkling swiming pool, tennis courts and basketball court, grand ballroom and disco room, pool Den and barroom, rear patios and front reception patio for separate functions, as well as separate dining halls for separate meals... I can't think of a thing I disliked about this lovely place. The food was equisite, the service was spot on, we could tour the mansion itself after brunch and it was like stepping back in time. Great photo opportunities! For about $25 per person you can have an extraordinary day with a beautiful drive along the levee road to get... More

First of all, the Grand Island Mansion is not a restaurant per se. The historic mansion, located on an island within the Sacramento River delta and once upon a time the largest private estate in Northern California, primarily caters to wedding receptions and group reunions. Although not open to the public on a daily basis, the mansion serves Sunday Brunch... More
