Barista did not acknowledge us ( no one else there), never looked us in the eye, took our order and awkwardly waited to see what else we would order. No verbal cues, nothing. Just had her back to us, looking at her POS. Finally, she turned around and said, " What else?" The barista making the drinks was not much... More

We needed a quick meal before a lecture at the library. My Ceasar slad and my wife's spinach salad were both quite good. Her lentil soup and the pasta that came with my sandwich were both fairly tasteless. My smoked turkey sandwich was too salty for my taste. $28 for the both of us seemd a bit high. The food... More

I've liked everything about La Scala for years. The menu, the service, and the location. Plenty of coffee, tea, pastries, salads and sandwiches freshly made to go along with good service and plenty of inside or outside seating. And free WiFi.

As a student who takes classes online, I like to sit in cafes eating and drinking among other students. This was my first time to La Scala and it will be my last. I spent probably 30 min total getting to and from this place on this Sunday night even when I could have just sat here at my desk... More

Opened in 1994 Caffe La Scala has everything going for it. When in Walnut Creek amidst its boring stamped out cookie cutter suburbia, I always make it a point to get a glass of wine or an espresso at this veritable institution with staying power. Free wifi, pleasant staff, good music, interesting people, a wide selection of drinks and food,... More

Had a great lunch in October, when the weather allowed outdoor seating. However, twice more we tried to eat lunch indoors, only to find all the tables occupied by one person and one computer, maybe a coffee and/or light lunch. Management needs to know that they are losing lunch customers to computers! Or do they care?

We had time to spare between appointments and we weren't super hungry. We split the smoked Turkey sandwich & there was more than enough food! Along the wall are outlets to plug in your electronics. Courtyard outside and seating on the wide and shaded sidewalk. Perfect! Will be back & highly recommend.

The best thing on the menu is a Prosciutto Panini. Great coffee. This is a place were people go for a quick bite or to do some work on their laptops. They also have outside sitting which is great. They used to allow smoking outside but not anymore.......I am so sad because this was my favourite lunch break cafe.

Amazing amazing place. Coffee is among the best you'll find anywhere and its priced well. Pastries and lunch items are both high in variety and quality. This place would stand out anywhere and certainly does here.
