We really like Sasa, including its fun and interesting decor. The food is delicious from the safe to the exotic: chicken lollipops, black miso cod, scallops with caramelized raisin chutney. The seared ahi is wonderful. We are not fans of their dessert menu, but usually we are too full anyway. Also, a couple of times a year, Sasa has a... More

Food was good. Prices for specials were good. Really enjoyed lettuce wraps and sasa roll. Service was just okay. Had to ask three times for my glass of wine.

This was my third visit but the first for lunch. The small plates are very tasty. We had the chicken skewers, lettuce-wrapped prawns, and California rolls. We decided to try the tofu which came covered with fish flakes. The steam caused them to move and wiggle, and when the waitress brought the dish (which arrived so late after we had... More

I love the whole small plate concept - you can order just the right amount of food and get to try several dishes even if just a party of one or two. The food was fresh and creative - excellent flavors and ingredients. Only issue was that the wrong order was brought to our table. The food was removed and... More

I've never eaten oysters that didn't have their own flavor but okay hopefully the "sauce" will. Oh, the sauce is already on the oysters, oops.the "chef" (he's probably some line cook from England and doesn't know anything about flavor) sent our ponzu sauce. Turned out it was a great idea, we used it on everything. The only thing that did... More

Atmosphere pleasant; service a bit slow; while menu boasts of sashimi selections from Tsukiji fish market (and having dined at several restaurants within the Tsukiji), portions are comically small, (and inversely priced) and flavors bland -- no where near quality found at the Tsujiki.

I've eaten at Sasa several times and the food is delicious, fresh and interesting. I especially love their sushi, bacon wrapped mushroom "sticks", duck confit tacos and beef filet on a hot stone. They also are very accommodating with diners with severe allergies (don't we all have that friend?). I also like the fun bar scene and overall vibe….. reminds... More

We were seated outdoors. The sun was in my eyes so we changed seats. The waiter was rather abrupt and indifferent. The asparagus appetizer was tasty but over cooked. The salmon with quinoa cake was delicious. The black cod was bland. We each had 1 cocktail and the bill was $80. I asked for a grey goose martini which was... More

Not worth the Agro. Bad service and marginal food. Nice facility. To bad the management doesn't understand hospitality. Complicated menu doesn't help Stay away there are plenty of other better options in walnut creek

When was the last time you were surprised by a restaurant in a good way? Fresh ingredients used in innovative preparations at a very reasonable cost without a lot of fluff or fanfare. Pork lumpia with tender and light [yes, light] pork that you could taste. Perfectly cooked bass with a light sauce. Cauliflower tempura cooked perfectly with a lemon... More
