Consistently good sushi rolls

We have been here multiple times and the sushi rolls are always a favorite! It's kind of a mixture of Japanese, Chinese and California food here, very upscale and artfully presented. The service is impeccable. The salmon on the sushi was easily twice the size of the rice it topped - that is not... read more

Wonderful sushi restaurant and great drinks too! The atmosphere is great and the staff very attentive. It's a bit pricey, but the food is worth it.

Sasa is a delicious place to meet friends and share great food and drinks. I've been here numerous times and the food is consistently great (and pricey). It's the go-to place where I meet my stepson to share multiple dishes and explore new flavors. It can be a bit loud by the bar - if you want quieter location ask... More

Solid place in downtown walnut creek. Very good happy hour. Artisanal drinks at the bar. Good sushi and sashimi. Good cooked food as well. I'm a regular, say hi when you see me at the bar.

Unique flavors, great décor, and terrific service. Seating outside is comfortable and a little quieter. As a long time resident of Walnut Creek it is great to see an excellent renovation of an historic building.

The restaurant and bar looked welcoming. John, the host, is terrific. He is friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. Our server, Marie, was on point. Upon their recommendation, we started with edanami beans served with lemon zest and sea salt. We loved the eggplant, lightly fried with carmalized onion and mizo. The honey miso sauce was delicious. The Walnut... More

Sasa is our favorite Japanese restaurant in the East Bay. The building is beautiful and has a very cool vibe. The menu has some great appetizers, some out of the box items for a "sushi place" like Brussels sprouts, Hummus, and skewers of steak or chicken. But the fish is the star, as Philip's creations such as the North Main... More

The place in Walnut Creek was not full when I went there for lunch (on a Tuesday) so I had some doubts. However, all the food I ordered were superb from zensai to dezato. I had sashimi deluxe for starters, Set C for main course, which includes grilled miso salmon, sake and maguro sashimi, hamachi nigiri, and negihama hand roll.... More

Having lived in Japan for 5 years, I can say that this place brought back some great memories through their food. Everything was fresh, delicious, and authentic. We wanted to order everything off the menu, but everything we did order was absolutely fantastic. The citrus hamachi was so fresh and flavorful. The miso eggplant was amazing and reminiscent of some... More
