Second visit to this favorite breakfast haven of my Vista buddy over a couple of years, but this morning there must have been an energetic blow out....I ordered the special, the Mediterranean omelet which was under cooked and returned to the kitchen. What was presented next was an entirely different animal, sans spinach and feta. The waitperson disappeared, service was poor.... More

My friend and I had lunch at the Vista Way Cafe. It's a great little spot and obviously a favorite of the local senior citizen crowd. It's the typical local cafe known for it's good food, service and very reasonable prices. The whole staff is friendly and rushes around making sure things are good for everyone. We both had the... My wife and I love to have our Sunday morning breakfast here. Their Chicken Fried and we always order their Chicken Fried "Special". It is one of the best we have ever had with great flavors. The coffee is a little to the weak side and the room is almost always on the warm side but the food and service... More

I found this restaurant through their facebook page, and I'm glad I did. We went for breakfast, I had the lumber jack breakfast and my wife had a skillet. The portions were massive and the service was great. Had a slice of home made pie but couldn't finish it, i had to take it home. Looking forward to going back... More

Casual and homey. We only can comment on the breakfast, which is always excellent no matter what you order. Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs is some of the best I've had--thick gravy with large chunks of sausage in it. Family owned and operated and friendly staff. Very reasonable prices too!

This is a flashback to old local neighborhood cafes -- real homemade soup, pies and sandwiches. I'm very picky about biscuits-and-gravy (too many places use wallpaper paste or mixes) -- the sausage gravy here is real and yummy. Delicious! Expect slightly slower service compared to fast-food, but it's worth the wait. Enjoy the homey grandma's house decor and let the... More

All of what we had was home made, and great. We have had: chicken pot pie, a wonderful turkey/grilled cheese sandwich, and the the endless fish dinner-- this was better than any we have had in San Diego county, AND it is all you can eat! The batter was light, and not thick and gummy like some places, the fish... More

We had to wait awhile for a waitress, and the restaraunt was not even crowded. Then I stood at the cash register and waited to pay my bill, while 3 waiter/waitress walked right by me and did not even acknowledge that I was there. Food is so, so, for the price, and they don't give you much. I will never... More
