The VP is the place to eat in Visalia and has been for more than 20 years and not much has changed in that time. The plusses: friendly and efficient wait staff, great dessert, and generous wine pours. The negative: salads and main dishes were average- large portions, but flavors were bland. My pasta was floating in cream sauce and... More

I ate dinner outdoors on the patio. Everyone else ate indoors, I guess they thought it too warm (85). Excellent venue. Fine presentation, great food. I see why it is rated #1. It is expensive and a little heavy on the sauces, but an overall fine dining experience. I had 2 appetizers. Blackened shrimp. A little heavy on the spice... More

Outstanding restaurant in the Valley's best town for dining. Long time favorite of locals and tourists, you'll feel like you're in a historic bldg in San Francisco. Great selection of standards and contemporary culinary entrees & desserts. The wine list is top notch and varied - reads like a book! The lounge is classic - and the bar & full... More

The Vintage Press is probably the most upscale restaurant in Visalia and can hold it's own in it's class in any larger city. Being in a small town I thought the staff was friendlier than found in a larger city. The interior has lots of wood, brass and crystal reminiscent of a bygone era of class and distinction. The present... More

The "VP" as we locals call it is in my opinion our town's finest restaurant. Service, food and presentation are all excellent. The owner and chef, David, does a recipe club night once a month and we have become regulars because it is fun and delicious. For a fine night out this is the place to go.

This place spares no expense and time on food and drink. The meals are all great, its a bit expensive but if you want some of the best food in California eat here. The service is great too, it does take a little to long for a drink in the bar. They don't seem to push the alcohol, however if... More

If you have a special occasion in Visalia, this is a great place to go. The food is always excellent.add well as the service. There is a bit of an older clientele and atmosphere, so bring your own friends! The best place to eat within the restaurant is the bar area. They have a few small tables tucked away and... More

Living here in Visalia, I've been to the Vintage Press many times. The food, specials, service, wine list and desserts (especially their own ice cream) are superb! If you have a problem getting a reservation just go down the track to The Depot (no pun intended). Owned and operated by the same family, the old railroad station has the same... More
