I didn't intend on taking out from this place but my time was pressed and so I decided to give them a try. When I walked in they were slammed. Every single table was filled with families. Since I wanted take out anyway, no problem. I ordered the Wor Won Ton Mein - it was a huge portion, so I'm... More

We have been to 8 different Chinese Restaurants in Visalia and this is the best so far. We had #2 Dinner Combination Plate $8.25 had a extra dinner soup $1.50, water & Ice Tea $2.35 (free refills) total was $13.10. All the employees were very nice & friendly, the restaurant was very clean. Now my wife is a light eater... More

We have eaten at the Shanghai Chinese Restaurant several times recently, and we will go there again. The food we have tried was good to very good. We especially liked the special with asparagus, black bean sauce, and chicken or shrimp. The lunch prices are modest and are about $8.00 per entrée. One of the owners often drops by our... More

I was introduced this restaurant three years ago and loved it ever since. Would always take my family to eat but just recently had gone and my girlfriend noticed something crawling an I turned around and it was a cockroach n flicked it away and sadly had to leave. I guess if you don't mind bugs go but I sadly... More

Going to the Shanghai is one of our routines when visiting family in the area. The menu is pretty standard, and dishes are well made. There are daily specials. It's a popular spot for dining in and for take out. If you are in the mood for Chinese food, I think you will enjoy what the Shanghai has to offer.

This some of the best Chinese food in the valley. They have excellent service. My wife wanted Crab Rangoon which wasn't on the menu at the time. They went next door to the supermarket and bought cream cheese so they could make it for her. Where else will find service like that? The food is very fresh and doesn't have... More

This place had great reviews so I decided to give it a try. It is hidden in the back of a shopping center. Fairly small place with maybe 15 tables, very clean. The food is excellent, a great value with huge portions. An entree, cup of soup, soda and appetizer was $23 and it was easily enough for two meals.... More

We moved to Visalia a few years ago and we've been trying different Chinese restaurants. A friend recommended Shanghai to us; it's the Best Chinese food in town. My husband and I are hooked on the Honey Walnut Shrimp and the #2 Plate. We go at least once a week. You got to try it.

You will be greeted by Judy, friendly and now your friend. The menu and the chalkboard specials are special. Pork Chow Mein, salt and pepper shrimp or calamarie the best anywhere. This is a neighboorhood smallish resaurant but it is well worth the effort finding. Problem now is it is getting a reputation of a great meal at a valued... More
