Best Meal On Our Trip

Read prior reviews. Sounded like most people loved the food but the atmosphere wasn't great. We decided to give it a try. Food was excellent, and all entrees were served with farm fresh vegetables and fruits. Our table enjoyed starters of some Fois Gras as well as their Faux Gras - both a nice... read more

We were vacationing to Sequoia National Park and stopped here after a day of traveling and hiking. It was beyond amazing. We both got the chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and carrots. The chicken was seasoned perfectly. We also had goat cheese to start which came with almonds, crackers and apple slices. . The bread was sooooo good and I... More

This was my first visit to Visalia, we made reservations upon viewing their menu online. We didn't expect this restaurant to be in a basement. It was smaller than we thought, but quaint. The server came and took our drink order and left us reviewing the menu. It look delicious, but our drink literally took 20 minutes, 2 Moscow mules... More

I have mixed feelings about this place. On one hand, the food is pretty good. I ordered the steak, which was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The peppercorn sauce was a nice complement... flavorful but still bright. The bread basket was also very good. The service here was nice, as well. However, the entire aesthetic of the restaurant seems... More

I have eaten dinner here on several occasions. It is a fantastic place. Each meal has been an adventure of delight. The menu changes regularly, so you will never be bored with it's offerings. This is our go-to place for special occasions. We introduced my brother-in-law, quite the foodie, to Jack and Charlies, and he now goes out of his... More

Nice restaurant, but be carful of your order. Last tI'm I was there I recall expensive beer, $12. This time did not see one that price, ordered $9 beer an found I was charged $12. It was a large draft so I assume that was the dif. But did not order a large?? Ordered a filet, which I must say... More

Excellent for a small town, but average good for NY or Chicago. Tate at the bar was a real pleasure to talk with for recommendations on what to eat, as well as cocktails (he has his own signature one that is being published soon - try it). I got the only steak on the menu, pretty good but small, and... More

What an unexpected find in Visalia! The restaurant & bar is inside an old law office building, it almost feels like entering a speak easy, climbing down a few steps, but then you enter an awesome space with huge bar area, leather booths & dim lighting. Cool atmosphere, very nice service - and outstanding food! Highly recommended!

A little hard to find--look for the British phone booth in front of the old hotel. Jack and Charlie's is in the basement, under the stairs. The upscale California food was beautiful, well-presented and delicious. Enjoyed the braised lamb with couscous and vegetables. Pricey for a small-city restaurant, but well worth it. Generous portions and very reasonable compared to similar... More

Food was excellent and compliments to the bartender with amazing drinks! Two samplers of three menu items was the best option for us and the small plate with the burrata and grilled peaches was absolutely to die for!
