OK - - Max’s on Rojas Boulevard in Manila was the first restaurant that I ate at my very 1st time in the Philippines way back in 1985. My Dad, my Cousin, and I went there and had some wonderful food; in fact, between Max’s, Gerry’s Grill, and the Aristocrat I would say that most of my lunches or... read more

Pleasant server but food is average . Tip is automatic added for party of four . This is an awful idea and never seen a restaurant doing the same way . Was in the food and beverage business for over 10 years and only add gratuity if guests are over 6 in one table . What if the service is... More

In the past when my husband and I used to commute to Los Angeles we always made a stopped here before heading south. This last time our experience was a total disappointment. I swear the server and cook were outside taking a cigarette break literally right in front of the restaurant. I don't smoke so of course the stench from... More

My husband and I were referred to this restaurant by one of my Filipino friends. At first I was hesitate BC we were on the opposite side of the market where Max is located. The other side had some ghetto, hood rats. However we found out very fast that the Seafood City was on the opposite side and we were... More

Once you enter the restaurant nobody is welcoming you. When you go to a restaurant the water and utensils should be automatic to be served but here in Max's its a HUGE difference, if you don't asked they don't give you. My boyfriend saw one of the waiter that busy doing his business on his nose. We laughed because he... More

A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. Food was decent, but service was HORRENDOUS and UNACCEPTABLE. Waiter had no personality taking our order, which was strange at first, but it wasn't goign to affect our night. Food was later served and the waiter disappeared. The entire 2 HOURS we were there, NONE OF THE SERVERS once asked if we were OK OR refilled our empty... More

While we appreciate the fact that we can enjoy the Max's experience of savoring authentic Filipino dish what we don't particularly like is the obvious apathy of some waiters. Smile more, introduce yourself as your guests' waiter and check on them every now and then if everything is okay and if they needed anything else. If you are to slap... More

Must eat place when you are craving for authentic Filipino fried chicken. Don't forget the Jufran banana catsup that goes amazingly well with this. Mmmmmm! Food tasted kinda salty when I last went so I just told them to take it easy on the salt. Their Fiesta plate combo is a bang for the buck- chicken leg, fresh or fried... More

Everything I ordered like the famous fried chicken and fried lumpia just reminds you of the restaurant back home. The chicken was served piping hot and definitely juicy. The oxtail from the kare-kare was very tender. Not a lot of veggies, though. Overall, very much as I expected it to be.
