We've eaten here quite a number of times. It has good diner food. It isn't like a top quality restaurant--more like Dennys. But it is good.

The food was awful. I had the green chile chicken sandwich. I was happy they didn't mind me ordering it without the bun. The chicken was so dry I could hardly swallow it. The guacamole tasted "old" and "moldy" as did the salsa that came with the meal. It was my FIRST TIME at Mel's and I was so excited... More

We come to Mel's in Vacaville now and then as a family, but it is a very popular place for the High School students to go after dances, school plays, and other events. The shakes are really tasty, made with REAL ice cream. Lots of flavors to choose from, too. They bring you the mixer container with the remainder of... More

Really like the potatoes and the coffee. Good eggs. Service is usually very good. The staff is friendly and usually keep your coffee mug full

We got back from our day and were just so tired, decided to try Mel's as there was no wait. We both ordered the turkey dinner. First, let me say that I hate dark turkey meat and that's what the turkey tasted like, even though it looked like white meat - may have been pressed and formed. Everything was covered... More

The food was excellent and the service was great. Neat place to check out while here in Vacaville. They had the old Juke Boxes right on the table and lots of pictures up on the walls. Good selection on the menu also.

Just had lunch with husband and daughter. He has shrimp and fries and I just had basket of fries. My fries as well as husbands were very soggy

We enjoyed the atmosphere of Mel's and the service was fabulous...the food was decent but not really the draw to come back. If you are looking for a fun place to eat where the waiters seem to be genuinely happy to serve you then this is a winner.

Was visiting from out of town so I had to try Mel's. Gotta love the nostalgia and all that. The food was average, it's more about the feel of the place. Had a sandwich/fries and a shake. It was OK. Worth a stop if you are in a yesteryear mood
