There are not many places we go to eat where tips are not expected and the wait staff consists of students of Buddhism. All sorts of nice folks eat here, people who look like truck drivers, life long vegetarians as well as first time meat eaters who come to give traditional vegetarian Chinese food a whirl. There is nothing to dislike about the food and service. If you have never tasted vegetarian food this is the best place to eat vegetarian food that doesn't taste like vegetarian food. The service is excellent and fast. We have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. We have tried virtually everything on their menu over the years... More

I've taken my family, who is from abroad, to this restaurant every time they come to visit. And we all love the fresh, healthy food. Some of the vegetables are grown in they organic farm. They don't put msg, just natural ingredients, like salt, soy sauce. A lot Chinese food can be really greasy so I don't eat them often,... More

A group of colleagues took me to Jyun Kang Restaurant for a business lunch, as I was looking for good vegetarian food. The service was polite and attentive, the setting was casual with a touch of gentle elegance, and the food was delicious, with a variety of options. We elected to eat family style, and everyone agreed the food was... More

This restaurant is so good, they have a large vegetarian menu, most dishes are available in small, large options. Everything is super fresh and light with just the right amount of seasonings.

The restaurant at the City of 10,000 Buddhas is nice and kind of funky. The vegan food is nicely prepared and usually tasty. Some things are a little too salty or spicy. The restaurant itself is left over from the building's days as a state mental hospital ( which closed in 1971) and looks it. If you go on a... More

The small restaurant behind the temple has excellent food; and large protions. For a lunch, a vehicle may drive slowly and turn on the first left road toward the 'Jyun Kang' restuarant EVERYBODY must SIGN IN at the first building on your right to WALK THE GROUNDS; park in the lot and go into the first large building to do... We went with family from Ukiah and ordered about 10 different dishes which were all placed on a lazy susan to be served family style. They have a very extensive menu, so it was a great way to sample mild to spicy, soups to salads, appetizers to entrees, noodles to veggies. All with top quality ingredients much of which they... This restaurant is located in Talmage, a small center just east of Ukiah, which used to be one of California's larger mental hospital compounds before they were all shut down by Ronald Reagan, and the nuts simply turned loose on the streets of Berkeley. The building housing the Jyun Kang restaurant looks like the old doctors' cafeteria; nearby is the... More
