We have a cabin near Twain Harte and decided to go into town instead of our usual dinner fare of grilling some big steaks on our deck. The restaurant is sorta rustic and the parking lot was not very well lit. We thought the restaurant was closed but we walked up anyway and discovered it was open. The interior decor... More

You remember the Seinfeld episode about the Soup Nazi? Well, meet his cousin the Pizza Nazi! Now before I go further, you can either go with it and get great pizza, or you can fight it and get tossed out, or better yet not go at all. It all depends on what YOU want to do. HE is not going... More

There wasn't an empty seat in the restaurant when we got there. They were very nice about texting us the moment that there was an available spot for us. We were seated at a table with two people that were finishing up their meal and ordering dessert. They were very friendly. It wasn't at all awkward to share a table... More

What an experience ! While we ate some of best food ever, we had a front row seat watching the chef cook for everyone. You get to choose the wine with a lot of help from the owner/chef,and is reasonable and excellent. Do not miss this experience, you will be sorry.

The best authentic pizza this side of Italy. Great wine and even beer selections...only the best... Outdoor seating and fun for all.

Very basic restaurant with outdoor seating, paper plates and plastic cups for water. The food served was absolutely delicious, home grown herbs, everything freshly prepared. The chef was very friendly and the food was served with a smile. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Been a few years since my last review - have been there quite a few times since then and have ALWAYS been more than happy. Just to let people know - it is still one of our favorites!! Tonight was simple salad and Mexasian Pork. Man was it good - paired with Malbec/syrah from Argentina AND outdoors. Please support Robert... More

We had a recommendation and a warning about The Prospector. The restaurant is small, the chef is also the owner and has rules about his food, first of all NO substitutes, the chef is an artist and a talented chef, his pizza is one of the best I have ever, and he wants you to eat it as his authentic... Last night we made the first of many visits (to come) to an absolutely fantastic little restaurant in Twaine Harte. Wood fired pizzas, great beers and some excellent wine choices. We ate inside as it's a bit chilly this time of year and enjoyed the almost (no darts) pub like atmosphere of the place, wood smoke and all. What a... More

The menu tells one that the food service is slow, that there are no substitutions and if one doesn't like that way, to leave (which we did). The food is really high priced. We were not treated very well and the waitress yelled at us about moving a chair. We had a party of six and there were only four... More
