Best food in Twain Harte

Best food since we arrived to the US in July... Delicious pizza, perfect beef, nice vine. We really liked it and can recommend to anyone visiting Twain Harte.

Come here to relax and meet new friends. The place is small so patrons are encouraged to share tables. I'm usually rather shy, but in over eight years (maybe ten) I have been so glad I have been seated with "strangers". Always a good time. Robert is a world-class brick oven pizza chef, (Napolitano style pizza certified) plus so many... More

It may not be a typical dining experience, but the food is absolutely good enough to get out of your comfort zone and roll with it. We've driven over an hour out of our way just to enjoy a meal of Robert's excellent cuisine.

As you read the other reviews you quickly discover that the Prospector is not a typical dining experience. If you at looking for mediocrity, go someplace else. Yes, the owner is locally known as the "pizza nazi" and he expects the customer to follow the basic rules of dining. None of the rules are unreasonable and they are created to... More

A restaurant which believes it's own press releases. Gourmet not. exquisite food not. Pizza is good, tasty , varied pizza menu. nothing special. Lot's of rave reviews which seemingly everyone believes. remnds me of the fable, " The Emperor Has No Clothes" Value, extremely over priced. Two small pizza's, two glasses of wine, small salad. $69. Look for me in... More

We have a cabin near Twain Harte and decided to go into town instead of our usual dinner fare of grilling some big steaks on our deck. The restaurant is sorta rustic and the parking lot was not very well lit. We thought the restaurant was closed but we walked up anyway and discovered it was open. The interior decor... More

You remember the Seinfeld episode about the Soup Nazi? Well, meet his cousin the Pizza Nazi! Now before I go further, you can either go with it and get great pizza, or you can fight it and get tossed out, or better yet not go at all. It all depends on what YOU want to do. HE is not going... More

There wasn't an empty seat in the restaurant when we got there. They were very nice about texting us the moment that there was an available spot for us. We were seated at a table with two people that were finishing up their meal and ordering dessert. They were very friendly. It wasn't at all awkward to share a table... More

What an experience ! While we ate some of best food ever, we had a front row seat watching the chef cook for everyone. You get to choose the wine with a lot of help from the owner/chef,and is reasonable and excellent. Do not miss this experience, you will be sorry.
