Great homemade tastes and heaping helpings in Tulare!

Ate here with family of 5 when Mexican restaurant downtown was closed. The waitress was nice and attentive, while food came out with reasonable timing. From meatloaf to BBQ, mashed red potatoes and gravy, cornbread, to everything we all had was yummy. We didn't have tummy room left after our meals... read more

We love the Black Bear Diners! Of course, we stick to what they're known for: basic, solid comfort food. We mostly just have their breakfasts and, of course, some diners are better than others. This was an easy choice for breakfast after three days of camping food. We discovered Black Bear Diner at Mt. Shasta, the original one, after a... More

Every time we've eaten at Black Bear, the food is good, plentiful, and right temperature to ingest. Last time in, noticed that the menu has had some revisions-fewer items to choose.

Inexpensive breakfast favorites. HUGE portions. It's hard to describe it beyond this, as I've only ever ordered breakfast, but every time they've definitely delivered on exactly what I expected. An overflowing plate of my breakfast favorites.

The entire dining experience is awesome. Upon entering the nicely designed outdoorsy surroundings, you are quickly greeted by a smiling friendly person who will seat you. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. The have a large selection of hardy dishes and food served piping hot. Every meal I've ordered is deliciously prepared. Try their enormous "Bearclaw" pastries. Yumm delicious... More

The service was unfriendly. Manager was great! Check in in on the table twice and eager to please. The server however was rude to my girlfriend and just not the best customer service. The food was as expected at a diner. Neither dish wowed my girlfriend or myself but was neither inedible. Overall check this place out if you love... More

They have pretty good food for the money. They give you a lot of food that reminds you of home cooking. Definitely recommend you stop there to eat if you are in Tulare.
