Black Bear Diner has a great variety of hearty and light meals for breakfast. You can hardly finish your plate and the food is delicious. Their lunch and dinner menus are good. Their bacon cheeseburgers are excellent and so are their pies. More of a down home cooking dinner menu (meatloaf, turkey, etc)

Black Bear serves delicious food and large servings. Tri tip dinner is always a good choice. Pancakes are the best! If service could only be more consistent!

The Tulare Black Bear Diner is one of the greatest restaurants in Tulare. The food is always good and ample. The service has always been courteous and fast. Great dining choice.

Arriving for lunch about 1:30 pm we found it to be not too crowded and yet it took 30 minutes to receive our hamburgers once our order was taken. The fellow seated across from our table had ordered before we sat down and received his bacon, eggs and hash browns after we received our order. He thought that the order... More

Business traveler eating alone Pros: Seated right away Very friendly service Clean, countryish decor. Cons: The food was bland. I had the pot roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans. The meat was tender but no flavor. The best part was the green beans and they were greasy.

When Black Bear Diner opened in Tulare, the locals accepted them quickly. First for the taste and second for the value. I enjoy good country style cooking with real world portions, combine that with a friendly, welcoming staff and you have a business recipe that smells like success. My personal favorite, Chicken Fried Steak with eggs and country potatoes, now... More

Stopped in Tulare on the way to southern CA. Dinner was good. My husband had fried chicken that had four pieces. I had the hot roast beef sandwich. The coffee was excellent, by the way. This is a good diner to eat at where ever you are.

Like all Black Bear Dinners you can expect large portions, excellent for very hungry customers. We had breakfast and out plates were overflowing with country goodness. Nothing fancy about it, just good ol American food.

We have had several meals here over the past few years and make plans to do so again whenever we pass through Tulare. To be fair, we have always had a fine meal at EVERY Black Bear Diner we have visited. Whether one chooses breakfast (at anytime of day), lunch or dinner, the food is plentiful, delicious, at reasonably priced.... More

This is our new favorite diner , large portions and great menu. Childers meal had every thing you need and more. The Bear t-shirts are so different . We bought the coffee cups and may not give them as gifts and keep them for our self. Oh, my the little pies are so good!
