We ate breakfast here and were not disappointed. The applewood smoked bacon was thick and delicious. The biscuits were fluffy, the gravy flavorful. The sweet cream pancakes were delicious. I only wish this chain was close to home so we could go more often!

It was nothing really memorable. I actually prefer dennys myself. The inside has a nice charm to it but besides that the food isn't much better than another breakfast place.

We read up on this before heading to Tulare and were not disappointed. I had the bear paw (lite) chicken fried steak (lite...hah!) My husband had the full order. The food filled the huge plates that were more like platters. Everything was great including the friendly staff. Hint...if you are staying at the Best Western in town, show your room... More

Black Bear Diner has a great variety of hearty and light meals for breakfast. You can hardly finish your plate and the food is delicious. Their lunch and dinner menus are good. Their bacon cheeseburgers are excellent and so are their pies. More of a down home cooking dinner menu (meatloaf, turkey, etc)

Black Bear serves delicious food and large servings. Tri tip dinner is always a good choice. Pancakes are the best! If service could only be more consistent!

Arriving for lunch about 1:30 pm we found it to be not too crowded and yet it took 30 minutes to receive our hamburgers once our order was taken. The fellow seated across from our table had ordered before we sat down and received his bacon, eggs and hash browns after we received our order. He thought that the order... More
