Great menu, service a little off

The steak tartare made the evening worthwhile. Not everyday do you see this specialty. Also inventive salads and pretty good pizza. Calamari cooked perfectly. That said, you shouldn't have to ask for a drink 4 times.

We look forward to Moody's but the last few visits the service has been unfriendly and tonight was ridiculous. Tonight I arrived with two friends and although the restaurant was empty they sat us with two people next to the door leading out back where staff rushes by. We asked if it was possible to change and were told very... More

Service was slow, personnel not friendly and the food was less than average. Extremely disappointed and will not return.

Didn't eat food here so I can't say much, we went in to get a beer and it was $8! That is outrageous. I have traveled quite a lot and have never paid that much for a basic draft beer. The atmosphere and band were nice, it seems packed like it would be good, but because of that very overpriced... More

The atmosphere, food, service, pricing, and location couldn't have been better. Our friends were showing up around the Tahoe area and when we got hungry, we spotted Moody's and went in. We tend to share meals and Lindsay, our server made sure there were extra plates and silverware. My wife and I had the Chioggia & Arugula salad and the... More

my husband and I were there for diner, we had only starters and a pizza because the prices are so high! avocado with egg and sauce bearnaise, steak tartar and a veal sausage pizza. All items were excellent, with a distinctive and flavorful taste. For dessert, blueberry pie, very good, very fine, and rhubarb ice cream that was disappointing because... More

Boy what a sleeper this place is, our friends told us to try the hamburger, had to be one of the best I have ever had in 50 years. Sat outside downtown Truckee so delightful. I would highly recommend this establishment. You will be surprised.

Moody's is one of my favorite dining and bar locations in Truckee. What I love about Moody's is its personal yet casual approach to good dining and its ability to serve a quality meal, even when the kitchen is overwhelmed. Eating out in Truckee can be a challenge on high season weekends, and several of my favorite restaurants struggle in... More

Went in with the family for dinner on a Thursday night in the summer. Got seated pretty quickly and things started out fairly well. Drinks came out and were a glass filled to the rim with ice and three sips (quite literally) of margarita for $11...gimme a break. Switched to wine after that. The food selection was limited and the... More

We were really excited to learn that their fried calamari was breaded with rice ! It has been a while since I have eaten calamari and it was delicious. In addition my family could also eat the regular and truffled fries since the frier had no gluten! We had some delicious endive salad and great steaks and chops. I would... More
