A pleasant surprise!

Moody's is a pleasant surprise! There was a small hiccup with our reservation for 9 people which was made in error for the wrong day. They fixed it up and managed to get us table quickly, which is to be commended! It is all about service recovery! The appetizers in particular we have enjoyed. I... read more

A fun atmosphere, livelier in the bar, quieter in the back. Always choices that sound good and are good. Reliable.

Took the family for lunch. Service was very slow. We couldn't even find the waiter when we wanted our check. The menu was limited and it was difficult for my teenagers to find something they would like. They don't eat kids-menu food, but the regular menu had ingredients that were too gourmet for them. I ordered the French onion soup... More

My husband and I were looking for brunch, but opted for a couple of delicious sandwiches instead. The chicken sandwich was served warm on their homemade bun with fresh guacamole. My husband thought it was good, but it paled in comparison to the divine lamb sandwich. Which was also served warm. I would make a trip back just to order... More

This had been "the" restaurant to dine in Truckee, then the service, the food and the value all vanished. But the mojo has returned and its better than ever. The chef's vision and execution show brilliantly in the food. Depth, breadth and unusual and wonderful layers of different tastes distinguish Moody's from the standard and mundane faire found elsewhere. Foodies... More

We were pleasantly surprised. Really great service, some nice variations in the menu and great food. We dropped in for just appetizers and a drink and were surprised by a great deconstructed avocado and beet salad and a few other appetizers. We will be back to try some entrees.

Good food, but the service is unreliable. Around holidays, we came in for a quick bite and desert, late at night. Great live music, for sure. We ordered pear crisp for desert. Waited for 15 minutes. The waiter came and asked, whether we wanted anything else. We said, we were still waiting for our desert. Surprised, he ran back to... More

Smallest serving of Ahi tuna ever encountered for Seared Ahi Nicoise Salad @ $15: 3 inches by 1/2 inch total. Good Burger, but should be @$14. Service? Female server "forgot" the draft beer ordered at the outset; our table also received someone else's beverage. 3 inch ramekin of ketchup; asked for more when served . . . "forgot." Could be... More

Tried this place a day before Christmas Eve as it was a lively location for the holiday season. We had reservations, so hoped for a good table - but got one next to the Maître D' and entrance. It was a bar table, so not ideal for dining with kids. Our cheerful and very patient server made the evening happy... More

We went to Moody's by default. Our favorite places were either having Xmas parties or booked. Got to Moody's a half hour early and had a few drinks while waiting for our table. Very good wine list and my martini was perfect. The staff was great as well as the service. The appetizers were great. However I think the entrees... More
