My second visit to Moody's and this was as good as the first. The quality & taste of the entrees and appetizers is outstanding, with a good variety of choices, from pizza & burgers to bone-in pork chops & halibut. Outside seating to enjoy the great Truckee/Tahoe weather. The prices are not inexpensive, but nothing is in Truckee. But the... More

The Best Burger in the Tahoe Basin! Good food, great service. Definitely worth a try if you are in Truckee.

Stopped in again this weekend and wow. Tried the pork belly with avocado and egg- really good and creamy. Then moved on to the pork chop - they use a brine to seal in the juices and it is great to share - very large portion. Moody's went through a rough patch - pizza and what-not. They are back to... I had their grilled chicken sandwich (with avocado, bacon and mozzarella) and it's delicious and huge! Great combination of tastes! And their seasoned fries were perfect. Perfect place for a casual meal when you're in Truckee!

Fun spot for live music and drinks in the evening. The fire pits alfresco are also a nice touch. The appetizers sounded yummy, but in actuality were just alright. The menu is a little pricey, but makes more sense if you go for the entertainment.

Always a good meal. A little expensive. The waitstaff is friendly and responsive. Eating in the back room, is more quiet. In the front room, the bar can be noisy. There is often live music in the front room, especially on weekends.

Moody's is definitely the nicest and most consistent restaurant in Truckee. From the apps thru desert- everything is exceptional. The live music on weekends adds to the fun ambiance. If you are looking for an upper end but casual restaurant in Truckee...Moody's is the place!

My spouse had visited Moody's many times in years past (even listened to McCartney one evening!), but this was our first time together. The old building is quaint, both inside and out, and the fact that they sometimes have live music, and they are dog-friendly (outside) are both plusses. The menu is good, and extensive, but also expensive (Bay Area... More

Moody's used two be great and now it is coming back to glory. The bar is very nice and friendly- unlike the Bar of America across the street. The food is coming back. We tried the elk burger and the pizza- both very good. Prices are reasonable- definitely a good find.

Moody's quietly stands out in this artsy outpost town where most restaurants seem to feature burgers (albeit good ones) and pizza. Moody's offers a varied menu (I had the Ahi Poke) ranging from salmon to ribs to duck liver pate yet also offers pizza and burgers. Something for everyone. The wine list is very good. And the bartender makes a... More
