Great appetizers and salads

The pork belly farm fresh eggs and avocado was delicious. What a phenomenal combination. The salads were great as well. The crab pizza was a bit of a disappointment. Perhaps they were using frozen crab. I am a commercial crab buyer and I am used to only the freshest Dungeness straight off the boat... read more

Went last night, and it was excellent. Our waiter Ben was outstanding. I would go again if I knew we would have him for our table. The food was excellent, hot, and cooked to order. The rib eye was perfectly cooked ( this seems to be quickly becoming a lost art form at most restaurants). Definitely try the tomato soup.... More

This restaurant has been around for many years and a good place to start is the bar where you will meet locals who are always interesting to talk to. The daily soups are good and the woody burger is really good. My wife had the ahi poke with a glass of white wine (domaine de la friuitiere) . The wine... More

This place was packed for good reason. Their Moscow Mule is pretty much worth dying in battle for. Major babes on the staff. Fantastic food. One of the few places seemingly able step up the customer service proportional to whatever is being thrown their way. Awesome place, would love to return next trip through. Good location, parking easy. Has a... More

Our family needed a restaurant close to Northstar for a wedding rehearsal dinner. Our headcount was 40 guests. After visiting several venues in Truckee, North Star and Incline Village, we felt Moody's best fit the bill. They have a private room off to the side called the Parlor which seats up to 50. They accommodated all of our requests regarding... More

My partner and I went to Truckee for the weekend. We meant up with another couple and the suggested Moody's. I am glad they did, the food and drinks were great! The icing on the cake was the band started setting up as we were sitting down. The lead singer was this young raspy blues singer. They had a bass,... More

Moody's is a pleasant surprise! There was a small hiccup with our reservation for 9 people which was made in error for the wrong day. They fixed it up and managed to get us table quickly, which is to be commended! It is all about service recovery! The appetizers in particular we have enjoyed. I love the Ahi Poke -... More

A fun atmosphere, livelier in the bar, quieter in the back. Always choices that sound good and are good. Reliable.

Took the family for lunch. Service was very slow. We couldn't even find the waiter when we wanted our check. The menu was limited and it was difficult for my teenagers to find something they would like. They don't eat kids-menu food, but the regular menu had ingredients that were too gourmet for them. I ordered the French onion soup... More

My husband and I were looking for brunch, but opted for a couple of delicious sandwiches instead. The chicken sandwich was served warm on their homemade bun with fresh guacamole. My husband thought it was good, but it paled in comparison to the divine lamb sandwich. Which was also served warm. I would make a trip back just to order... More
