This is a very popular restaurant with both visitors and residents filling the tables. Be sure to call ahead for reservations. We went for dinner and asked to sit on the deck. Delighted that "we made the cut" as the view is lovely of Truckee and beyond. Have eaten here several times and always enjoyed the fabulous food, fine service,... More

Thanks for visiting! Had you stuck around longer, you would have heard ME playing and singing (but that may have dropped us to two stars...) Only about two more weeks of prime Deck weather remain! Mike More

Fun place for great happy hour and sunset. Good snacks and nice relaxed atmosphere. Tourists and locals mix. Have enjoyed many evenings bringing friends and family. Check out the first ski run and lift in the area just outside the door!

Thanks for joining us! I am always surprised at how enthusiastic our customers are about the incredible history of our building. The story of Hilltop and the beginning of skiing in the Sierra make the maintenance challenges of such an old building well worth it. Mike More

Service was excellent and the deserts belong on the menu of the ritz as they are amazing. Some say this place needs to updated but I say the worn look is part of its charm. The problem is the salad had more garlic anything else, the steak was cajun style and as tough as a cowboys boot and the fish... More

Thanks for the feedback...For future reference, you may tweak your Caesar dressing anyway you like, because the dressing is made to order. Many locals (myself included) go with light garlic and more lemon. Give it a try! Regards to Mr. Ramsay... More

Visited on august 6th. Had a lovely drink on the terrace prior to our table reservation, and enjoyed the views of Truckee. Great service, lovely food, would highly recommend the steak. Very accommodating for the needs of the children( without dressings etc for food!) Lovely ambience and very busy. So would highly recommend booking.

Slamming busy Saturday night and they seated us early for our 7:15 restaurant on the deck with a fabulous view. Ordered wines by the glass which were great and had the beat salad which was one of the best I've had. Two people had the special filet, one the chicken sandwich and the other two pasta dishes. Everyone was very... More

Sitting outside looking over Truckee was fantastic. Great weather, beautiful view. Service started out slow, but once our waiter finally found out table, remainder of service was polite and snappy. I was there late so I only ordered a couple of appetizers and cocktail and glass of wine. Food was respectable, but far from mind-blowing. Wines available by the glass... More

If you can stand the garlic later on, give the Caesar's salad a try. It is the best anywhere but it is a little strong for most people. The view is terrific if you can get a window seat.

Thanks, Jim, for visiting. Yes, the Caesar can stick with you for awhile. We consider it olfactory marketing...Since each salad and its dressing are made to order, consider tweaking it a bit next time. Many locals go for light garlic and extra lemon, which is also my favorite way. More

This is an old ski lodge turned into a restaurant. They have a great view of Truckee from the outdoor seating on the deck, and will offer you a blanket if the night is chilly!

One of the best places to eat out for a great dining experience in Truckee. Local place with lots of history. You can be dressed up or casual. Service and food is good. Pricey but worth it!
