Great Beer and Dinner/ Terrible Service

Its a three star review, with an extra star for how great the beer is. We arrived Saturday Night on Memorial Day Weekend, we were seating instantly, we got flights (to try everything!), fried zucchini, I got mussels as an entree and my husband got three fish tacos (two would have been WAY MORE than... read more

We came about 8 years ago when it first opened and were 2 of 8 in the whole restaurant. It was OK, but not good enough for us to return...and we are in the Lake Tahoearea a lot. On a very rainy Saturday we returned and almost couldn't find a seat at 2:30. We began with the fried zucchini and... More

We were driving through Truckee on a trip from wine country with our GSD. We chose the brewing company because they were dog friendly. They have a pretty patio that was sunny on the day we came through. We really enjoyed the yellowfin fish sandwich and glass of dry white wine (my husband liked the beer but the ones I... More

My wife and I had represented our winery at a tasting event held in conjunction with the Best of Tahoe Chefs held at the Ritz Carlton, Lake Tahoe and were returning home to Western Nevada County via Truckee and Interstate 80. It had rained the entire day and was cold and damp; the kind of weather custom made for a... More

Working in the area, wanted a place to have dinner, and, based upon the reviews here, went to 50/50 expecting a typical brew pub, but the experience was not what I have found at other brew pubs. Possibly it is trying to be a Tahoe type place serving those coming up from the Bay Area, as it was a little... More

The food fresh, service was very good and large beer selection. Not for foodies. We would definitely eat there again. The ribs are right up there.

All of their beer is pretty good, but the thing they specialize in is barrel aged porters. Food is standard bar/brewery fare and totally acceptable. Service is friendly and informed. It's a spot I hit up a couple times a month at least.

My spouse and I had ribs at the "50/50" in Feb 2015. The dish was ribs and mashed potato with fried onion rings on top and with the best sauce imaginable. Perfection with a local beer! We told our waitress how delighted we were and how we would like to thank the chef personally. He promptly joined us at our... More

This was not a good visit for us, the last two times we are here it was great. This time was slightly disappointing. I had the mussels, which I had on the previous visits, and they were cold! I kid you not, the shells were actually cold. My daughter had the Bourbon shrimp app with sweet potatoes fries and hers... More

Hello. First and foremost I would like to personally apologize for your most recent visit with us at our brew pub. Although is it great to hear that your prior experiences have been excellent, we are always looking for ways to improve and continue to manage our restaurant's consistency. We are under the same ownership, and the presentation of our... More

We usually end up here on a Sat afternoon. When you are in a mood for burger/fries and beer this place is hard to beat. I love the garlic fires. Fish & chips are good too. Over the years we've probably tried most lunch items and have been happy with them.
