First it's a little hard to figure out where to enter. Then the waitstaff ignored us. Our party of six stepped into the bar area (3 steps to the left) where the staff seemed more interested in their phones then their customers. We left without any contact from the staff.

We dropped in here for a quick meal based on the advice of the desk at Cedar House Sport Hotel, which is just up the street. We had a light meal, but everything we had was beyond excellent; both food presentation and quality were top notch. To put that claim in perspective, I've lived in Japan and enjoyed great sushi... The sushi is good. But don't try any of the "specials" they are typically overpriced and, if cooked, are oily. Beware accepting recommendations for special sake from the owner. They are delicious, but expensive!

Everything on the menu at the Drunken Monkey is good but I especially like the calamari. It is melt in your mouth fresh.

We sat outside in the evening, even though there were no heat lamps and it was fine. Restaurant inside gets noisy and crowded, especially on a Saturday night in August. We enjoyed the street noodles with pork and the the teriyaki chicken with small salad. The chicken was a better value as it was a nice size order while the... More

We had two great meals here, one take-out and one at the restaurant. Both times, the food was excellent -- really flavorful with high quality ingredients. However, the service was a bit off. The first time we tried to order take-out, they said they were too busy to offer take-out. (Who says that? Just tell us how long it will... More

Nice casual staff. Very tasty and imaginative rolls. Decent tempura. I love the Sapporo on tap. And the recommended sake was all advertised. Melons, coconut, etc.

Went to Truckee on a Truckee Thursday .... Very busy and was unable to get dinner on main street without a long wait. On Road from Truckee to Tahoe you will find this gem in a little complex. Great Sushi and asian fusion.
