Great Find

As we drove down the old highway, the redwood trees lining the old road traveling south, we noticed a restaurant on the right side of the highway but did not see a sign. We checked in to our cabin at Bishop Pines in Trinidad and Jane the Innkeeper called Larrupin for me to make reservations. Turns... read more

To say this place was complete chaos would be an understatement. From the moment we entered and were told it would be a few minutes for our reservation (meanwhile they sat three groups that came in AFTER us), to the "here's your bottle of wine, pour your own glasses because I'm too busy" attitude of our waitress (and yes, she... Haven't been in about 10 years, but I don't know why. The smoked beef brisket has always been my favorite, and it was better than I remember it. The salad was excellent. What carnivore writes about the dinner salad? I know, it was THAT good. Real flavor, excellent service, yada, yada, yada. . . If you want a long review,... More

I've eaten all over the world and this place is at the top of the list, what an incredible gem in what feels like the middle of nowhere. Outstanding personal service. Incredible menu. Great atmosphere. I had filet mignon with brandied mushrooms and Gorgonzola, my mouth is still watering the next day. My partner had grilled steelhead trout, it was... More

Formally a house. It is isolated. Two beautifully and tastily decorated floors. A limited, but creative menu. Your chosen dish will excite your taste buds. Save room for their killer three layer cake ( best cake I have ever enjoyed).

Excellent and interesting menu, nice atmosphere (very cozy) and top-notch service. High-quality ingredients and generous portions, with an very extensive wine list.

Beautiful restaurant in a beautiful setting. We ordered the pork tenderloin medallions (delicious) and the chicken wrapped in phyllo (10 out of 10). The service was great. Nothing negative about our visit.

I revisited Larrupin after being away for years, so glad to be back. The food is phenomenal, the Brie in phylo was delicious, the chicken in phyllo was also delicious. The atmosphere is relaxing and service was great. We had no reservation and was told that was no problem. And seated right away. I highly recommend larrupin for dates and... More

Searching for a special place for mu husband's birthday in the Trinidad area I was surprised to find the Larrupin Cafe. It is certainly not a cafe - it is an up-market restaurant. The food was outstanding and worthy of far more mainstream eating locations. We enjoyed their signature appetizer board, a wonderful medley of cheese, jam and home -made... More

Nice décor and friendly wait staff. Good wine list. We had the baked brie and also smoked bbq oysters for appetizers. Both were very good. They also send out a mixed appetizer platter for free that has bits of fruit, cheese, cucumber, and liver pate. The steak with gorgonzola sauce was tender and tasty. The Cornish game hen with beets... More
