After living in the area for almost 4 years and hearing about it, I recently decided to give it a try. Lovely place with forest view. They have a jazz bad on Sundays and Wednesday at 6pm. Make sure you make a reservation. I saw several groups get turned away when they didn't have one. I ate the beef brisket... More

Trip #3 to Larrupin and they didn't disappoint. From the appetizers and wine to the dessert we enjoyed it. Presentation, quality of product and service were spot on. They have a great prime rib special every Sunday. There is a ton of food, so be prepared. I had the spanakopita and it was delicious. I thought I'd hate it but... More

My wife and I had dinner here and it was the highlight of our trip. Though an unassuming house in a random location, it had a very cozy atmosphere and attentive service. We ordered the pork ribs and beef brisket which were honestly the best I've ever had (and I've had many). The sides were scrumptious and the salad too.... More

Yes, it's expensive but worth it. Sometimes it is good to splurge when the food is exceptional. The atmosphere here is informal but well decorated. As you are led to a table you feel you are winding through the rooms of a 19th century farmhouse, complete with the kitchen aromas. The service here is sincerely friendly. The waitresses actually converse... More

All the restaurants in Trinidad are expensive, but at least this one gives you a nice clean setting with comfortable and artsy surroundings.

We were visiting our daughter at Arcata from Lake Oswego, Oregon. We made a trip up to Trinidad and beyond question we will go back to this restaurant again and again! I had the Cornish Game Hen and it was huge portion and off the charts darn tooting Excellent!! I think I put up a picture... Take a look! The... More

We stopped here for dinner after reading a review in Sunset Magazine. The author said you should wear your best flannel shirt and eat the meat! Whoa! The ambiance was much more upscale, but you would also fit in wearing your flannel. We had the salmon and decided it was the best we had eaten during our two week trip... More

we ate at Larrupin 2 days in a row. It was that good! Dry rubbed Steelhead with a wasabi butter sauce, blacked snapper with aoli, chocolate pecan pie with butter rum sauce, and more. Most entries are grilled over mesquite. The atmosphere is unique. To me it had a New Orleans Vodoo flare. It was decorated, very tastefully for Halloween.... More

We have a cabin in Weaverville and come to Trinidad every year for a long anniversary weekend. We mainly come because we yearn to have dinner at the Larrupin. The food is fresh and perfectly prepared and service is always excellent so is the outdoor setting and eclectic ambiance indoors. Make sure you are hungry, the portions are quite large.... More
