Pretty good upscale dining right on the beach. Sunset visit is great. Ahi tuna was very good, filet mignon also fine. If it's Moonstone or Larrupin in Trinidad, pick Larrupin.

Pleasantly surprised by a cozy local spot with fantastic beach views, good wine selection and a great menu! Crab cake, tuna, lamb and dessert were all very tasty. Only thing I would have liked to see to make it a 5? We were celebrating a birthday, and no one said anything (after checking ID's) until we asked for a candle... More

Wonderful location right on the beach. Menu is extensive. Food preparation was delicious and service was great. A great place for watching the sunset!

As a local, I would have to say this is the best restaurant view in Humboldt County. Come about an hour before sunset and you will not be disappointed as your dining experience carries over into the sunset. We enjoyed the halibut and big-eye tuna with the scallops as an appetizer. All of these were very good, borderline excellent. Pricey,... More

Best martini ever. Try their Happy Hour at the bar, with the sun setting over Moonstone Beach — always special.

I loooove this place. Happy hour with appetizers is the best! Watching the sunset on the water. Delicious food. One of the top places to eat in humboldt!

Great view, over-priced average food. We had the corner table which was touted to be the best view on the West Coast. Indeed it is a world class view. However, the food was disappointing from beginning to end.

I was sorely disappointed in having dinner at Moonstone last night. The view is of course, outstanding, but the food is just factory meats from the Midwest and the vegetables are not local. I think the standard is higher in a place like Humboldt, where we have so many options for locally grown organic vegetables and humanely raised meats. All... More

Awesome view, located on the beach.. Great food ( gourmet) and a happy hour menu that doesn't consist primarily of fried food :) Daniel ,the bartender was awesome and attentive .. He also works at Abruzzi another great restaurant in Nearby Arcata. There is a nice beach to walk at the bottom on the hill under the restaurant.

Loved the crab cakes, salmon and local beer. Service was spotty at first, but the food was worth it.
