Magellan's is a small, romantic restaurant downtown. The food is consistently very good to excellent. Prices are on the moderately high side. Food-4+. Everything we've had is really good and the food is consistent. Owner is frequently there, and he takes pride in his restaurant. Service-4+. Staff are attentive but know when to help and when to give customers space.... More

Passing through on business and checked out Tripadvisor for a recommendation. Spot on with this little gem. I had the lamb and I would return for more you can bet on it. Good food and wine.

We have enjoyed evening meals at this quaint restaurant a few times in the past few years and every time we repeat our confidence in the high class dinner offerings. Both the meat and fish entrees have been excellent. The service is first class with cloth on tables and napkins. Desserts are outstanding and the wine list is high class... More

Magellan's has been a go to place for a nice dinner for the past 15 years. Mr Magellan and staff pride themselves on quality meals along with a very nice wine list. Reservations are sugested, but not required. Never a bad experience. To get away from the franchise facilities, try Magellan's, you won't be sorry

We had four of us for dinner. We failed to make reservations, yet were seated almost immediately. The service was excellent, our waiter made suggestions on items we were unsure of. The food was done to perfection. I prefer not to have my food soaked in sauces and gravies and the place was quite accomadating putting all of the dressings,... More

Magellan's is a very nice surprise in the small but convenient cross-roads town of Tracy. Great ambiance and a fantastic menu are exceeded only by the owners personal attention to his guests. We started with Wedge and Parmesan salads, both were fresh and delightful. For the main courses we had rack of lamb, veal, and salmon pasta; all truly wonderful... More

We lived in the Bay Area and our friends live in the Sierra Nevada. Magellan's is a great place to meet for a long leisure lunch. The food is very good and so is the service.

It was a special evening--my birthday--and we wanted something special. We have lived in Tracy over 35 years and know the town well. Well, we have passed by Magellan's often but never have eaten there. We heard it was "pricey". Well, it is "pricey" but the food was wonderful. Try the steak with blue cheese! Service was excellent. While we... More

I ordered the halibut, but was served pollock. It was thin, mealy, and gray in color. The waiter assured me it was halibut and even brought out the shipping invoice to prove it. I grew up in Alaska. I know halibut when it is front of me! I wasnt making a scene or anything, and they took the meal off... More

Reviews really help when you aren't familiar with a town and its restaurants. We were on our way home from Lake Tahoe and decided to eat dinner at Magellan's. At first we didn't know if they were open since the shades were down on the windows and the entrance was not obvious from the street. My husband, adult daughter and... More
