So many Italian restaurants have gone total high-brow and pretentious. I love Hank's because it's kitschy Italian, like when I was growing up. And the staff is very friendly, and it's cozy inside -- although the patio's preferable, when weather permits. We always get the large veggie pizza, which has everything but the kitchen sink on it, and a pitcher... More

This is the second time we went to Hanks in 25 years. Now we know why it took us so long. We ate on the patio and the same light fixtures were broken (along with a few more), the fountain was oddly out of sync, the tables were wobbly, the pretty little lights strung across the patio were all dark... I grew up in this area and Hank's has been there for as long as I can remember, but I hadn't been to the restaurant in many years. I visited last weekend with my dad and his wife for Father's Day dinner (this restaurant was their choice). First, I have to say that the garlic bread is wonderful--highly recommended that... More

We loved eating at Hank's when we lived in the South Bay-on our most recent visit we had take out pizza and salad and were happy to taste that the yummy Hank's sauce hasn't changed one bit! We also enjoyed take out salads (Cesar and Antipasto-sp?) but thought they both had a bit too much salad dressing for our taste...it's... More

I tried this neighborhood italian restaurant again since our usual place is closed Mondays and Hank's is open. Ordered pizza and spaghetti to-go. Spaghetti was to my liking. Unfortunately the pizza was not right. The components above the crust were exactly like what your would find on a "normal" pizza; cheese, tomato sauce, mushrooms, etc. The crust however reminded me... More

This place was sold and does not taste very Italian. It has a definite mexican taste in the sauces and food. It used to have fantastic eggplant sandwiches.

A few days ago, after an extremely dry winter, the rain was literally coming down in buckets... in sheets... almost horizontally! I love the rain: watching it, driving in it, sitting on the sand at the beach just smiling and looking up at it. During this particular torrent, we we out running an errand and decided to stop into Hank's.... More

Hank's is a local fmily-owned Italian Restaurant that looks like it could be located in one of the lovely small northern Italian towns. The food is plentiful and very good; the meat sauce was thick and flavorful and the pizza good. Every time we have been there the salad bar is different, incorporating seasonal fruits and vegetables; the soup selection... More

We have been going to Hanks off and on for over 8 years. We thought of it as our local, neighborhood Italian Restaurant. The food is descent, but the service has diminished to the point of no return. Before you have sit down, the waitress is asking for your drink order. You need to ask for everything three or four... More
