Nice views and good food

We decided to eat in the bar since we did not make reservations. You can get the same food as the main restaurant. We ordered a spinach salad loaded with pear slices and candied walnuts. Next we had pork BBQ sliders, home-made potato chips (too spicy hot for us), and short ribs over pasta and... read more

We are here twice on our last trip up. The first night was excellent and completely unplanned. We got there right before sunset, ordered a bottle of wine and enjoyed the view while we waiting for a table. Dinner was excellent and service was top notch. The second night wasn't as perfect, but service and wine were still fantastic and... More

Though staying at the lodge we could not get a reservation for dinner. We sat at the bar and had an excellent meal. We even had a little bit of view. The warm Laura Chenel goat cheese salad and the Humbolt Fog tomato galette were superb and the seafood Louie was excellent. Wine list was adequate. Definitely suggest reservations so... More

Breakfast is included with your stay at the hotel and is absolutely delicious. We also had dinner at the Grill and it too was wonderful. Their seafood chowder is excellent. Everything we tried was fresh and yummy!

When you eat at Sea Ranch, you expect a pleasant dining experience, and we got it. Twice -- lunch one day, breakfast the next. Lunch was a quesadilla with smoked turkey and jack cheese and an avocado salad for one of us, a tart with Humboldt fog cheese, carmelized onions and dried tomatoes for the other. Both were well-prepared and... More

I have been enjoying The Sea Ranch since 1975. I have been to The Black Point Grill long before it was The Black Point Grill. I usually have a nice experience. I take friends for lunch and dinner more than a couple of times a year. I'm just hoping my last experience was a blip. We had a handicapped relative... More

Really great place to stop while driving Highway 1. I had the Clam Chowder which was great. My wife had the best spinach salad ever!! Staff was friendly and knowledgably. The view amazing.

We just stopped in to see what they had while driving by. We looked at the menu and decided to give it a try. Everything we had was very good. And the view was also worth the visit. May be a bit more than we usually spend for seafood but with the ambiance, it was worth it.

We did not make it past the bar area, but ate from the same menu as the restaraunt. Reservations are a good idea. Excellent food, service tried but maybe 1 or 2 understaffed. Grabbed a bottle of wine and dessert to go, to finish the sunset with.

We biked the the 20-mile round trip from our rental house to the Black Point Grill several times in May. On each occasion we anticipated a serene and tasty lunch with grand ocean views. The food? Quite good ... creamy clam chowder, crunchy fish and chips, a savory tomato and Humboldt Fog blue cheese galette. The servers? Earnest and very... More
