This tiny little deli is a must try if you are a fan of real Mediterranean fare made to fresh right in front of you. We tried the falafel, the mediterranean salad, and the garlic fries. The falafel was very good and not greasy, and the fries were extremely garlicky. ;) Everything was made with fresh ingredients and the kitchen/grill... More

Stayed in Tehachapi and was looking for a place for a carryout back to our motel. We came across the Petra Mediterranean Deli and gave them a call. Our order was ready by the time I arrived and we had a delicious and relaxing meal after a long drive. The price was reasonable and the service was fast and friendly.

Such a wonderful place to eat in Tehachapi. The owners make you feel like family & are always willing to add or leave out any ingredient you want. The Hummus is so tasty & Chicken Shawerma wrap is one of my favorites. For those with a sweet tooth the homemade Baklava. During the winder they have a different homemade soup... More

My husband and I eat here at least once a week. The food is always fresh and delicious. I tell visitors to go there all of the time.

I have to revise my outdated opinion of Tehachapi and what's available there for food and lodging! I went through there last week with some friends and had a really memorable meal at Petra's, chosen quite randomly. The food was fresh, authentic and delicious. Prices were reasonable, we were able to sit outside in a refreshing breeze. I highly recommend... More

I have eaten here several times and always enjoyed it. Years ago I had an Arabian roommate whose family owned a true Mediterranean café. This place is authentic! Loved the Falafels and the baklava -- homemade of course. It is a bit pricey, but sooooooooo worth it!

After a long hard drive from Zion National Park good food was paramount. Who would guess that tucked in away in a Californian outpost there would be great Greek food. The falafels were delicious, the lamb in the kebab perfect. A couscous salad was tailored perfectly as requested and the hummus delectable. I would be at this place all the... More

I've eaten at Petra on three separate occasions, not because I like their food but simply because it's conveniently located, being across the street from the cinema. I've tried three different selections, and each time I felt that I was grossly overcharged for food that was not really that spectacular. Seating is somewhat limited, and both the owner and the... Having lived two years in Turkey and traveling throughout the Middle East, I expected a lot - and I wasn't disappointed. As a local, I visit this restaurant frequently and I have tried virtually everything on their menu. My favorite meal is the Lamb Kabob dinner. Although it is an order at the counter and sit down restaurant with inside... More
