I just had lunch there yesterday, and I should have split the tuna sandwich with my friend, but being the glutton I am at times, I ate the whole thing! Delicious food and friendly service. No wonder its the top rated spot in Tehachapi. Can't go wrong with a stop to this place!

I stopped off to buy some danish and cookies in my way home from Rosamond. The best and freshest danish Ive tasted since my trip to Europe many years ago. This bakery will be a " must stop" on my way to Rosamond and Palmdale from now on!

On a family vacation to Sedona from SF Bay Area. Looked for a lunch spot in Bakersfield but all we found were fast food and chains. Checked out Trip Advisor and saw Kohnen's in Tehachapi and said what the heck...it was worth the extra 30 mile drive! For the negative reviews they need to understand that it is a counter... More

went in today, had the worst service. The girl there wearing a bandana was very rude. First I went to the counter to get some bagels cheese ones and they were not marked. The girl said they are jalapeño. So I asked kindly do you have just plain cheese her response NO in a very rude tone of voice, not... More

What an amazing find - I grew up in Austria and passed through her on our motorcycle - the delicious, custom sandwiches and pastries brought me right back to Europe with one bite - owners are delightful and the atmosphere is great - love the patio area to enjoy the gorgeous weather!

This bakery in the cute town of Tehachapi is a place we drive 30 miles for. Its desserts from the plate sized cinnamon sugar cookie to the chocolate eclair to the apple struedel are worth the drive. Theres also awesome sandwiches made to order and soup in bread bowls that we love too..oh and don't miss the zuchinni bread. Give... More

Great sandwiches and atmosphere located in a restored packing shed. Lots of great fresh bakery items. Eat indoors or out on the elevated deck overlooking the Historic train station and busy tracks.

We were half way through our 12 hr drive home when we stopped in Tehachapi for a late lunch. My husband chose "the bakery" because so many other people were eating there. First walked in and stood in line with everyone else. Got to the counter not aware that we were supposed to write out an order for the sandwich.... More

A unusual, interesting, colorful and GREAT place to stop for lunch. Be sure to check out their website to get the "flavor" of this innovative masterpiece in a somewhat unusual geographical location. Absolutely great sandwiches . . . . and if you are on the road, be sure to stock up on some bakery treats before heading back to your... More

I visited Kohnen's several times for the Gluten Free Macaroons fresh from the bakery. I seriously could not stop eating them!! Delicious. Because nothing else was gluten free, I didn't get to sample any of their other items, but they all looked and smelled good. I'm sure you will not be disappointed.
