Tasty at good price.

For meat lovers you have all what can be expected. Good Choice of wine, you just have to pick your bottle on the shelves in front of the bar. A little bit confusing for european customers .

Steaks are on par with the finest restaurants in the biggest cities in the world. Small venue with friendly service. Prices are high but no higher than fine steak houses around the world. The Prime Rib is a specialty and excellent.

This was a nice surprise since we have never visited before in all the years we've been here. Inside feels very cozy and how a log cabin should be. Low ceilings and warm wood decor. The wine cellar looked particularly interesting and is in glassed cabinets opposite the long main bar which you walk through to get to the dining... More

Had an outstanding prime rib dinner. Mashed potatoes and creamed spinach was excellent. My wife had the lamb shank which was superb as well. Wine selection is very good as well.

Visited recently and was served the worst steak I've ever had. We were tired and I just didn't have the energy to send it back, so I picked at it and had the potatoes. Now: the place does have a cool and kind of creepy vibe from the early 1970's, and it's probably been that long since everything in there... More

The Old Range is my go to place for beef, their Prime Rib is my favorite, with the mushrooms and roasted Brussel Sprouts...all to die for. So Delicious, more than you can eat, and the best vegetarian plate, too. You will find a fun wine shelf to select your bottle from and if you need a cocktail, they have it,... More

a local friend brought us, as we might never have found it otherwise. our server was attentive and knowledgeable and the food was excellent. I had the filet and it was juicy, perfectly cooked and came with very tasty mashed potatoes. the sides were large and shareable and the drinks were good pours. this was a very nice surprise and... We have not been to Lake Tahoe in 9 years and remembered Old Range from our last visit. It was great then and just as great now. It was the first restaurant we wanted to eat at when we arrived. As usual, the portions are very large and cooked to perfection. The included mashed potatoes could not be better. This... More

Our party of three did the ribs, each of us ordering a different size. The 'cowboy' size is HUGE. But the meat is so tender and delicious that we all finished every last bit. The ribs come with the house garlic mashed potatoes (excellent). In addition, we shared a shrimp cocktail, a Greek spinach salad, and a serving of Brussels... More
