I made a reservation on line, using their website. Got a confirmation back, and was looking forward to having our cocktails while watching the sunset. We checked into the B&B next door (Shore House, very nice, BTW) and walked over to the restaurant - only to find it CLOSED. Our host later told us the restaurant had been closed for... More

Restaurant sits right on the beach. You feel like you're on top of the water. I don't think we could have had a better view of the sunset. My pork chop was amazing with pumpkin puree.

A lady at the table next to us found a human tooth in her food!! The staff were very quite and unfriendly. Very awkward environment when it came to the servers. Nice view, though. Very small space.

We enjoyed a leisurely lunch on the deck of Captain Jon's overlooking Lake Tahoe. We started with onion rings - sweet onions in a beer batter served with BBQ sauce. I had a steak salad with large and delicious strips of steak. The serving portions were enormous. The wait staff was comprised of ladies from Romania who were part of... More

This place came recommended by the owner of the lodge we were staying at down the road. We ate dinner at 8:00 on a Wednesday evening. It was very quiet, and we were one of only a few tables in the place. Based on the name, we were expecting a place that served fried seafood platters, and other traditional seafood... More

Great view. Slow service. Lots of people running around but nothing getting done. Cleanliness is suspect as spoon was served with chewing gum on it.

The beautiful lakeside dining view was not enough to compensate for super-slow service and mediocre food. It was obvious that the soup and mashed potatoes were from a mix and our waitress left in the middle of our meal. For the price and location, a true disappointment.

Went to Captain Jon's today for lunch with my wife and four friends. After being seated, we enjoyed the view of one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. The waiter came and we ordered two bottles of wine, the burger, quesadilla, ahi sandwich, fish tacos, wedge salad, and the fish & chips. All items were cooked well and... More

We stopped for lunch and shared a turkey club sandwich that came with terrific french fries. Good service, great view. All in all a good lunch but nothing outstanding.

This place had nothing of substance to offer except the view. Go to enjoy a drink and the view, but go elsewhere for a good meal. Our salmon crostini appetizer had two small slices of salmon that were so thinly sliced that they were transparent. My scallops arrived at less than room temperature, and the green beans were so tough,... More
